tired room in a great location
stunning location, but the hotel IMHO lives off the location and needs to spruce up the rooms a bit - I had to use the bin to wedge the window open for fresh air. Evening meal was quite pleasant although had sold out of my first two choices, breakfast was lacking - ok for old english travellers, not very modern or European (english breakfast only, with a couple of bowls of tinned fruit, cereal and yoghurt). Staff were very accommodating. Walk on the river was divine. Would stay again.

Staff friendly, lacked iatmosphere, Tired looking and bland from the outside. Bedrooms comfortable
On arrival hotel from outside looked a bit shabby, needs a lick of paint in certain areas. If I missed these a few hanging baskets on teh outside with some colour against the walls would give a more welcoming feeling.
If weather had been nice and warm , to sit on the grassy area or by the pool was a no no. The landscape was unkempt and pool was dirty.( Not sure if these area's were part of the hotel grounds but I believe that this is responsiblity of the hotel to ensure these areas look nice and chase the relevant parties .
The interior lacked atmosphere, however that could be due to the time of year perhaps and the touriset season hadn't got into full swing. Although in the winter perhaps it wouldn't have a warm atmosphere. The bedrooms were nicely decorated good size and beds comfortable. More attention to detail when cleaning in bathroom is required, Found a long black hair round the bath tap.....

80th Birthday
The rooms were spacious and clean but too much floral décor. Bathrooms clean but need a facelift. Only 1 hand towel between two guests but we did get a bath towel each! Overall a comfortable room that could do with a makeover. The outside is picturesque and great for mooring the boat. Would we recommend, yes but with reservations.

The staff were all friendly and the position of the hotel is stunning . The hotel itself is in need of updating, my room was in need of decorating, the wallpaper was peeling, bathroom ceiling had seen better days and the floor boards were very creaky on a positive note it was very clean.

View and service accurracy
The setting of the hotel is wonderful. The state of the conditions of the room could be improved. Service at the restaurant was excellent. However, reception was a bit cold and charged us a higher price compared to the one we have booked. It was sorted out quickly. Overall, the stay was very pleasant and will recommend without any hesitation.

Superb picturesque setting, excellent potential, shame about the service.
Request for dietary considerations, although notified at time of booking, were ignored. Excessive delays between meal courses. Plumbing issues with bathroom taps and shower need attention. Staff were very friendly and helpful but I suspect that the kitchen was understaffed. The room was spacious comfortable and clean but looked due for redecorating.
