Reviews - The Queens Hotel, Newport- a JD Wetherspoon Hotel

3Self Classified Hotel Ratings explained
18-22 BRIDGE STREET, NEWPORT, NP20 4AN
The Queen's Hotel is a grade II listed building which was built in 1863, soon after Bridge Street was laid out. We are ideally placed within the city centre being only 2 minutes walk from the main train station and plenty of car parking available in the area. We have 29 individual bedrooms and all have en suite shower facilities. All of our rooms include tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and digital televisions.

This hotel adjoins a Lloyds No.1 bar which plays music in the evening. In certain rooms, music may be heard during the evening bar hours. We are ideally located only 5 minutes off Junction 25A of the M4 and 2 minutes walk from Newport train station. There are train connections to Cardiff, Swansea, Birmingham New Street, Manchester Piccadilly and London Paddington.

Cardiff is only 20 minutes away by car and 15 minutes by train which is ideal for anyone planning a trip to the Millennium Stadium or concerts at the C.I.A. We are also less than a 10 minute walk from Rodney Parade, the home ground of The Newport Gwent Dragons and Newport RFC.

A 50% non-refundable deposit will be taken for any bookings with 5 or more rooms.

Great place well worth a visit
Very good location. Easy to find and friendly welcome upon arrival. Family room spacious and well maintained. Warm room with no a/c however a fan was provided. Extra pillows were available already in the room.

Recommend
Room was small but for a one night stay it was more than adequate and very good value for money.
Bed comfortable and plenty of clean towels and extra pillows were available. There were tea/coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. The accommodation is situated above a public house so the noise was to be expected, however it really wasn't too bad and value for money I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Noisy in the evening, but not continuously - just other residents. Very good value for money, central in Newport, easy reach of the station - extremely kind and helpful staff. I'm glad I chose to stay here.

A good hotel for the price.
Clean and comfortable.
Rather noisy in the street during the night, but it was a Saturday and the hotel is in the centre of Newport so not much to be done about that.

great value accomodation in centre of newport
The Queens is an excellent choice for a stay in central Newport, and being close to the station, its easy to get in and out of Cardiff. Facilities are good as is the service and as you would expect of Wetherspoons a good choice of food is available at reasonable prices; The hotel has entertainment on site and the nightlife goes on into the small hours, which might not suit everyone but its not so problematic either ; Good facility, would use again

Room was good but could do with either air con or being able to open the window wider, it was really hot and comfortable at night. Also the bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied by the housekeepers it was still full from the previous guest, but all in all would stay there again as it was easy access to train station to cardiff
