Overpriced and very normal
Laterooms "Superior " room - Ordinary room at an extraordinary price.
Poor air handling, no AC and very noisy. Stuffy room with no opening window and directly above a noisy taxi rank that went on to 0300. Lumpy foam filled pillows. Parking not referred to when booking but £40 for two nights even with hotel concession. Hotel looks nothing like the on-line pictures
Weekend in Brighton
Thistle Brighton - excellent location, rooms need updating - bathroom very dated.
Fridge in the room needed a clean and there was a white stain on one of the orange scatter cushions on the bed. We had breakfast both mornings. £10 for all you can eat buffet. Staff friendly.
Great one night stay
Swift check in, friendly and well informed staff, room fine but no fresh air as it as it was overlooking the atrium.
Very clean, superb enormous bed. Air condition ok but a but noisy. Connected to free wifi....but not able to use....don't know why but as it was just for one night it didn't matter.
Location right on the seafront...and near the lanes....great!!!!
Excellently located hotel ...
On the sea front with lovely views of the pier from the restaurant through 'floor to ceiling' picture windows (which could have done with a little clean!). Rooms spacious and clean. Lovely hot water for showers. Good breakfast buffet .. although the omelette cooked for me was a bit greasy, so stuck with the buffet other mornings. Friendly staff. Good value and would use again.
Good seafront hotel in Brighton
I stayed here, with my husband, for two nights recently whilst visiting a friend who lives in the area.
I booked through Late Rooms - and think I got a relatively good price for a weekend in this town.
The room was fine. A little tired in some places (the bathtub had chipped paint) but overall it was good. The bedding was clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable actually. Nice hospitality tray provided. The fridge was useful for our bottled water etc; The lifts were very quick, and we never had to wait long. We had breakfast only on the last day - as we ate out in Brighton other times - and it was fine. Plenty of choice. The waiting staff brought around regular coffee/tea top ups for everyone. The pool was nice. Quite small, but seemed very clean - and not busy. I also used the steam room. The changing areas were okay, with lockers provided. We didn't try out the gym equipment, but it looked to have everything.
We didn't use the car park so cannot comment on that.
I will probably use the Thistle again for our next trip down to Brighton and Hove. The only thing I may do different is book a room which doesn't overlook the atrium - as I found it made the room a bit dark for my liking. We could see the see (indirectly) though.
Nice central location
Generally good value for money.
We upgraded to a sea view room which was very pleasant.
Hotel a little tired in places and the loss of the beautiful trees indoors means the large lobby is like any other chain hotel. More seating would have been appreciated in the lobby as this was very limited.
The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us and the spa treatments were excellent. The pool was warm and gym had everything you would need for a weekend quick workout.
Kristian was extreamly helpful in giving us a good tip for where to go for breakfast and with car parking.
Well priced. Bit noisy on the atrium side in the early hours from the bar but not a huge issue.
Brighton in December
The rooms are basic, lacks atmosphere in general.
No hot water 2 out of 3 days & no apology
