4Self Classified Guest House Ratings explained
36 Church Walks, , , Llandudno, LL30 2HN
Space B&B is located close to the west shore of Llandudno, beneath the famous Great Orme headland and within walking distance of the town’s visitor attractions, shops, theatre and conference centre, and famous curved promenade. It is the perfect location from which to visit the North Wales sandy beaches, scenic coastline and, the Snowdonia National Park and an easily-accessible weekend retreat. We have eleven individually-designed luxurious, contemporary and chic rooms. Each room benefits from its own unique Indian style, combining elegance and grandeur with spacious comfort. Space boutique offers fine Indian dining in Jaya restaurant. The only truly authentic home cooked Indian food in North Wales, the menu at Jaya has been devised by the executive chef and owner Sunita Katoch. Why not relax and enjoy a choice of drink from our carefully selected wine list or champagne cocktail from our bar. Known as the Queen of Welsh Resorts, Llandudno is a thriving holiday and shopping centre, with a host of attractions, including a pier, theatre, dry ski slope, parks and gardens. Llandudno nestles between the Great and Little Orme headlands and boasts Victorian and Edwardian elegance. The town benefits from two beaches: the highly acclaimed North Shore with its crescent shaped bay; and the quieter West Shore, ideal for a more reflective stroll. The Great Orme headland includes Bronze Age copper mines, Britain’s only cable-hauled tramway still in operation, a dry ski slope and breathtaking views across to Snowdonia, the Isle of Anglesey and even the Lake District on a clear day. For the adventurous, a range of outdoor pursuits and water sports are available in both Llandudno and along the North Wales coast. A short distance up the estuary is Conwy, a medieval walled town with a beautifully maintained castle. As a world heritage site, it is rich in historical interest. For theatergoers, Venue Cymru hosts many West End productions and live bands throughout the year.

Overpriced and dissapointing.....
Start with the positive..... Room was clean and the en-suite was good.
The public areas were nice, the cooked breakfast was very tasty and check in / out was friendly enough.
Now the negative.... small room, ill fitting bedding, poor service and over-zealous portion control. The room was the smallest double room I can remember ever having, and at over £100 per night I found it totally unacceptable.
The only other dbl room I have had of approx the same size was last summer & cost under £60. The wardrobe was (what I would describe as) a single, much of which was taken up by the ironing board and iron, and our medium sized suitcase had to stay on the floor, taking up more of the limited floor space. The room looked ok in the photos, but in reality we both found it rather uninviting.
The second night was a washout. The fitted sheet didn't, and continually creased up under us which was annoying, but not as annoying as being awoken 3 times by the fire alarm. After the 3rd time my wife could not get back to sleep at all. The owner informed me in the morning that he had had to switch the alarm system off !
At breakfast we experienced the same problems on both mornings of our stay.
Firstly, there was no fresh fruit salad available (there was some thin melon slices and some red fruit, but very little -enough to add to cereal). Secondly, service was slow, approx 1/2 hour for the full english to arrive. Thirdly we were asked if we wanted white or brown toast, but when it came (with the cooked breakfast) only one slice was provided -on the breakfast plate!
Fourthly, I don't think that asking "Can I get you anything else" was in the owners vocabulary!
Having ordered the full cooked breakfast, I had to catch the waitress or owner's attention to ask for everything, individually. Brown sauce, a second coffee, More toast (which on the first morning I received but my wife didn't) and again, one only additional slice was provided, On the 2nd morning having asked for brown sauce, then more toast (again -one slice), we just couldn't be bothered to ask for more coffee. To be fair, after we stood up to leave we were finally asked if we wanted more coffee, but by this time we just wanted to get out.
When we checked out and the owner did apologise about the alarm and our sleepless night, but no compensation / reduction was offered for our inconvenience (we didn't ask as we don't plan to stay there again) Disappointingly, when told what we thought of the room, he was "surprised" that we found the room too small as he felt it was a "normal" sized room. on the whole I was left with the impression that maximising profit was more important than customer satisfaction.
