More than acceptable for the cost.

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting my daughter in Cambridge.

The first night the A14 was closed for road works from 10pm. There were no diversion signs and it took me over an hour to find an alternative route from my daughter's house to the hotel. I didn't arrive until well after midnight. This is not the fault of the hotel but it was stressful none the less. My room was very spacious and comfortably furnished. It was extremely hot in there and despite turning off the heating and opening the window I found it difficult to sleep. The soap dispenser at the sink area was broken and soap had leaked all over the surface. The shower was not very clean. On the second night, the A14 was open so it was an easy journey. The coffee and milk I had used earlier in the day had not been replaced although the cups had been washed but I did get clean towels. I'm quite sure if I had asked at reception, all these issues would have been addressed but I was too tired to be bothered. However, I paid a special offer price for 2 nights and I am happy that it was very good value for money as other hotels in Cambridge can be much more expensive. I would happily stay here again but only if the price was low. It's a very acceptable budget hotel but it's not the Ritz.

Clean and comfortable

My booking wasn't on the computer system despite me having a Late Rooms reference.

My room choice wasn't available but I was given a satisfactory room but this was cold and took a while to warm up. Everything worked ok, shower was great and staff were friendly and professional.

One negative was that the spoons weren't replaced with clean ones. I used them for my porridge in the morning and the same ones were simply cleaned under the tap as you could see porridge debris on the underneath each day. I didn't think cleaning staff still did that these days. Next time, I'll bring my own.

Great cheap stay!

We stayed for two nights so we could have a little trip into Cambridge..

Hotel was really clean we somehow ended up with an executive room which was nice and spacious. Really handy being next to the service station for midnight snacks. All in all really good stay, very handy hotel

Builders hotel

This is a builders hotel its not very clean smells bad and beds are poor.

Book with as they seem to have the best rates for this place & if you paid more you would be really disappointed.

Workmans bedsit

If your a tradesman then this is ok, it's not much cleaner than your site but it does have a bed and shower, some rooms have carpet missing and poo on the towels.

With it being on the A14 the only dinning is motorway priced junk. Book with as it's the cheapest and then you won't be to disappointed

Visit to Cambridge

Booking was easy, great deal.

Easy to find, check in quick, staff friendly. Room tidy but; bedside lamp hanging off with loose wires; shower lead broken so hardly any water coming out, toilet bowl stained a disgusting brown, bed not very comfortable at all. Too busy with the children to complain at the time but that room really needs some maintenance.

The entire experience is dominated by a pervasive "drain" smell in reception which permeates the whole place.

When mentioned to the check-in clerk he denied anything, saying you don't notice any smell if you work there. Shalln't be back

The room had a horrible smell which when i informed staff they said they were aware of it but could not rectify the problem.

Days Inn, Cambridge Services, A14 Junction 28.

Very convenient for local villages, Swavesey.

Boxworth, Longstantion, Over, Fen Drayton, Fenstanton, Conington, St Ives town and Cambridge and Huntingdon.. Excellent value. Convenient to food court complex and service station. Clean, although could do with some limescale cleaning to washbasin and shower cubicle. Shower hose had split so that water spurted through the splits rather than the shower head, but that didn't matter to me, the water still sprayed out - it might matter to some people. In essence, a clean and convenient stopover, with digital TV.
