Basic room with all necessities.
Mattrasses poor though (squeaky and dipping badly) and no water pressure in the shower. Food was good, great value dinner at the pub, loved the cooked breakfast and great service.
over night stay with early start
Room was good, evening meal good.
I could have had cereal for breakfast but too early for more. This I expect
Pub with Rooms
Suitable for short stay or for business.
Rooms Ok but smell of cooking pervades. Bathroom in my room a bit cramped.
Had to laugh
Whoops....looked promising from the outside but room was smallest yet.
Consequently we sat in the bar until bedtime. This accom needs an overhaul. Set up for single occupant as indicated by only 1 towel supplied & bed would be ok for single occupant but dreadful roll-together meant unrestfil night for hubby & I. Bed cover was grubby & bathroom walls needed good clean.
Friendly Staff Excellent food and drink an enjoyable overnight stay at a good price
Good value & good sleep
Whilst I was a little disappointed by the quality of the room - tired, basic, only 1 open bar of soap, no tea selection - I did have a sound, undisturbed sleep with no traffic or other noise to disturb me.
For a single night on business, it does the job.
Friendly B&B style accommodation
A slightly rocky start when the shower in my room collapsed under my feet (I'm overweight, but not that fat, honestly!), but the staff dealt with the problem quickly and efficiently.
The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast service is quick and efficient; the pub also serves evening meals, but I didn't try them so can't comment. The bedroom would be too small to spend a great deal of time in, but the downstairs is a pub so there's plenty of space there to sit and chat. The only real issue I had is that the walls aren't very soundproof, so if your neighbours come in late or leave early you're going to know about it. Kenilworth is convenient for the University of Warwick, which was the object of my visit, and there's a path/cycleway leading almost from the door of the pub (well, just across the road actually) right to the university (if you don't feel like a 2.5 mile walk, there are buses too). A handy place to stay for a meeting or conference at the university if your travel budget's on the tight side.
Pleasant friendly pub
the Cottage Inn is a small friendly pub in a quiet street.
It serves typical pub food in a pleasant dining room. It has about five guest rooms: ours was comfortable, clean and quiet. At the very reasonable prices they charge, our stay was good value for money. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants good value and doesn't want a shiny corporate hotel.
Arrived quite late in the evening for an overnight stop before Cruft's.
Met by very friendly staff who offered to keep the kitchen open for us. After being shown to our room we ate in the bar and had an excellent meal: breakfast cooked to order and was also first class. Room was spotless and ideal for our needs. No hesitation in recommending the Cottage Inn.
