Average
Average in everyway...old decor, small rooms, bad beds, no real curtains, tiny Tv..
Not good value at over $80 dollars a night compared with what else is available.
Only good point is the lovely ladies at the Star Bar!
But I didnt indulge as even a dance is pricey..

Lybid Hotel, Kiev
I stayed at this hotel for one night, and at another Hotel, for the same price for 2 nights. I found this hotel acceptable, and the advantage was that it was near the Central Train Station, but the other hotel was of much higher quality. This hotel has been renovated, but still has a slightly "old regime" air to it. There is a girlie bar in the lobby, and there were quite a lot of tourists. The breakfast was actually quite good and abundant, but again, I think the hotel is a little overpriced for the quality that they offer - this said, ALL of the prices seem overpriced in the Ukraine, but given the choice, I preferred the other hotel, sorry to say.

Decor stuck in the 70's but hotel serves a purpose as somewhere to crash
A functional and clean hotel.
Excellent late night entertainment.
Customer service non-existent.
Too far from City centre - cab drivers just out to rip you off.
Food is dreadful.

My stay in Lybid, Kiev
It's a nice enough hotel, that does what it says. It's clean, fairly central, has excellent breakfast and ATMs as well. The staff are not very smiley, although they are helpful.
And be aware if you wanna go to the airport, there are buses from the train station and you can pick up a taxi from the center for 150-200gr, a member of the reception staff told me i could take the hotel taxi for 350gr! Nearly double the money!

Better than I expected
The hotel was fine--the room was your standard en suite double with a/c seen all over the world. Breakfast was the same buffet every day, but there was a wide selection. As for interaction with the staff--it was a lot pleasanter with the female staff members. One young lady gave me a free extension on my Wi-Fi code after some problems--Wi-Fi was not entirely reliable but pretty useful nonetheless. My only real reservation about the place would be that it's a bit of the walk to the Metro, so not really for old people or young familes.
