I will never stay at this hotel again.

Room was way too hot, the bathroom was very basic and not very nice at all.

The hotel itself was super complicated to get around and the lift made you feel like you were going to die every time you stepped inside it. Food was way too expensive so had to live off of pot noodles etc. The walk was the worst. It said it was only a 20 minutes walk to and from the city centre but it was actually 45+ minutes. It was horrible. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Tired Room

The Decor of the room was tired with what appeared to be Lining paper very poorly put on the walls.

Lighting was poor and meant running around the room putting all lights on seperately. The bath had what appeared to be a hardboard painted panel on the side. Although the room was relativley clean but the noise during the night was a large negative for the stay. The room door appeared to be of a relatively low quality and noise passed through from the hallway with ease.

Good no problem stopover.

Arrived late evening, still serving bar food.

Room had everything needed. Left early. No complaints, no issues. Ample parking at the back which you don't know about when you first arrive and think there are no spaces.

Tired rooms not well maintained

The hotel feels like a converted office block.

Reception areas OK but rooms and corridors poorly decorated and tired. Room not that clean. Good staff on reception. Characterless dining room with local radio station too loud for breakfast. Note: I think some of the rooms are being used for housing asylum seekers or refugees, noisy conversations in the rooms, groups of young foreign nationals sitting around reception or outside the front doors smoking.

Cobden Hotel Birmingham formerly the Quality Hotel

Stayed here as was pretty close to central Birmingham.

When I first arrived I was put into a room which seemed quite dim and outdated. Toilet was broken so the maintenance man told me to go to reception and change rooms, which they did and the next room I moved into absolutely stunk of cigarettes so once again I was moved. It was annoying moving into 3 different rooms, with no offer to help move my stuff, staff were happy enough to move me although they didn't have a very friendly approach. The room I stayed in was a family room, much more modern than the first room I was put into and very clean so no complaints on that front - I had already booked in for another 4 nights the following week and requested I had a similar room. Mattress was not great at all, would not pay full price to stay here.

Hotel a bit tired

Rooms were ok, bathroom towels very small, kettle didn't work.

Reception and bar area needs heating. Breakfast not very warm.

Meets Basic sleep over requirements

45mins walk or slow public transport ride from New St.

Station, not the 10mins suggested by the website. If you add the £6/£7 taxi fare to the standard room cost, you'd be paying the same as the hotels of better standard which are nearer to City Centre and amenities. Burger & chips was lukewarm and salad lettuce was limp. Decor was worn and where redecoration was completed, the finish looked like it was poor DIY standard instead of professionally done. Corridors have bad musky smell mixed with general cigarette and damp odours. Not expected for any hotel in 2015 especially listed above 3* stars. With a bit of TLC all round this hotel could be good, but at the present time - it's a under par disappointment which doesn't quite meet the criteria to qualify for true value for money on any level. Clean bathroom and clean sheets was a relief for one night at least. I was glad to check out and I've never said that about any hotel. Not a place for romantic or luxury weekend that's for sure!

Front desk busy and staff clearly only doing their job and no more.

Room clean but basic. Heat unbearable.

cadburys world experience

I came with my 2 boys for a trip to cadburys world and as this hotel give a decent package experience then i took it.

The hotel is close to the train and not far away from the cadburys world. Me and my boys was treated lovely from all the staff and having a pool ment the boys had something else to do. The food was cheap and lovely and i would defo recommend to anyone. The hotel isnt the best decorated but when it comes to friendlyness then there are on point.

Weekend Away

Still plenty of room for improvement here, Stayed in the new refurbished part of the hotel, not that refurbished in my opinion. No drawers in room to put anything away just simple little shelf unit's, not even a coat hook insight to hang a wet towel, coat etc, room was clean and bed's very comfy,TV and tea & coffee facilities, towels hard and hurt to wipe you face.

Charged £5.00 each time we wanted to use the hotel pool, sauna and steam room (all of which were fine though), first morning for breakfast was fine as not over crowded in the hotel, second morning was very badly managed as a wedding party in the night before and was terrible trying to get breakfast, no organisation at all, had to wait in a que to get food, tables not cleared quick enough, bread still in wrappers!, food not replenished quick enough, serving spoons taken away for washing and none in their place so had to wait, ran out of cutelry so had to wait for dishwasher, poor management and no organisation skills, it was like a cattle market, the food itself was ok as far as a breakfast goes, if you want a fried egg then that's a 10 min wait, it took nearly 30mins to get food, not the wait you want when your hungry.Went out both eve's for meal, some very nice restaurants and Casino within walking distance. 10 min bus ride for Bullring Shopping Centre. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant, housekeeping good, This hotel is just above basic with plenty of room for improvements.
