Well situated friendly hotel
Pleased with what we got for our money.
Added bonus to have an indoor pool, sauna etc. Breakfast was good value. Great to have a car park on site which was included in the price.
Great reception although fish tank needs a clean
very friendly and helpful staff
breakfast a little poor re cooked choices but overall fine
would stay here again
Good central stay
Stayed here for a trip to the nia, good Central stay for what we needed, staff very friendly and helpful, hotel a bit tired in certain ares but for value it was fantastic.
The hotel overall was good, however our room was too warm and there was a constant humming noise
Great place to stay, comfortable bed, great facilities and situated in a good location in Birmingham, would recommend and look forward to visiting again.
thank you Cobden hotel.
Great for a girls/lads weekend away!
I stayed at the Cobden for a night with 8 friends for my birthday.
We found that the location was perfect for a night out with the main strip of clubs/bars just a couple of minutes up the same road. The hotel has a pool & spa which is a nice touch.. And the all you can eat breaky at £7.50 is really good value. There is a 24hr reception & bar which was great for us & also a great room service menu but we decided to eat at one of the many restaurants next to the hotel (TGI, beefeater, ask etc). Although the rooms were pretty basic & in need of a little tlc the rooms were perfectly adequate & clean. I'd highly recommend a stay here.
hotel cobden, birmingham
We was very disappointed with this hotel, you get what you pay for !.
Although it says it was a reduced price/special offer you could see why when we arrived. Very basic. The carpet in the walkways was exstremely dangerous with big rips in the carpet, big enough to get a childs or adults foot trapped in it and to fly flat on there face !. The doors of the rooms were very scruffy and the interior of the rooms was very dark and brown. No beside lights incase you wanted to get up in the middle of the night. The bins were not emptied. The bath had hairs around and in it. The beds, you could feel the springs !, and the pillows where like bullets to sleep on. I would recommend it if you want a cheap hotel for 1 night but i certainly would not go back.... i would rather pay a bit more and have cleanliness and comfort.
We had very good customer service from the front desk all the front desk staff we met were very attentive.
The gold star goes to a young lady called Sam on reception who was exceptional. I could not comment on the food albeit we paid for breakfast we came down at 9.30 am tobe told by the catering staff in the restaurant that the hotel had finished serving at 9.30 . there is no other facility on site so that was very disappointing.
Room was smelly and dirty with damp spots on the ceiling.
Scatter cushions on bed were threadbare and smelled disgusting. The curtains did not close properly and the 'white' shower curtain was turning yellow. Light above sink in bathroom not working. Did not dare to eat at the hotel or use the leisure facilities as I was horrified at how dirty my room was. Hotel was completely full so was unable to change rooms. Left early in the morning as was unable to sleep - you can hear other residents taps turn on and toilets flush. All in all a terrible stay.
Hotel was clean and suited my needs.
Was noisy with people walking in the corridors throughout the night.
