Holiday Inn Express BURTON UPON TRENT
Excellent size of room, will definitely be returning.
Overnight stay in Burton Upon Trent
I booked it a bit late but still thought it was a bit over priced - the room was fine including the bathroom.
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment - I don't like sausages or scrambled egg that much, but the only alternative was baked beans in the hot items - why not have bacon and fried eggs cooked to order. The (so called) warm pastries were not warm at all - there should have been a better choice of fruit as well (only grapefruit on offer). I might stay here again but would look elsewhere first. The same applies to a recommendation.
A first class stay.
Friendly helpful staff, good rooms catering for able bodied and not so able bodied, and an excellent help yourself breakfast.
Overnight stay leisure
Good value for money.
Friendly reception staff.
Tired and going through the motions rather than providing a quality service
Room felt tired.
Lighting was bad so hard to tell if room was really clean
Bed was single (twin room) I am sure I booked a double and moved weirdly - (that it moved at all was pretty weird!). I got the impression that it was a put you up bed rather than a proper bed.
Actual shower was very good with plenty of pressure, towels were clean and big enough but bathroom itself had seen better days. Restaurant food expensive for what it was and cold but fortunately there is a pub within a 100m that serves a wider menu, is cheaper and food arrives hot.
An excellant stay
I genuinely can't think of single negative thing to say.
Hotel was just lovely, excellant helpful and friendly staff, room was lovely and a really nice breakfast. A perfect stay.
Disabled Rooms Double Bed
This weekend was made difficult as the disabled room we should have booked had a double bed ,totally unsuitable for us and I would think most disabled people, will not be returning, pity as the hotel is fine.
Excellent service, clean and pleasant rooms and reasonable value for money.
Would stay there again.
dissapointing short stay
had to wait 1/2 hour for our food, which when it arrived it was cold, would've complained at the time but we were tired and hungry (another resident order in Chinese 15mins after our in house order it arrived before our meal) .
windows were open allowing cigarette smoke to come from other residents, the room didn't have any storage (drawers) in which to put our belongings, the shower when switched on had a faulty seal and as such water was flowing everywhere, beds were very bouncy turned over in the night and nearly fell out of bed. day staff friendlier than nights. not the usual high standard I expect from the Holiday Inn
Really great customer service and a very pleasant stay
The hotel staff were fantastic form the minute we arrived.
They organised an early check in as we were going to a wedding and offered to sort an additional bed while we were out to save us time. The room and services were fine - very clean although the beds were quite short. We just grabbed a few slices of toast form the buffet breakfast on our way out but everything looked great.
Overall, we were really impressed by this hotel and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the area.
