Lovely place to stay just a couple of downfalls
This was a very nice room that I got very clean free WiFi and TV.
Overall, I was very pleased with the room itself and its cleanliness; however its only downfall was the En-suite bathroom as the shower was freezing no matter how long I waited there was no hint of it warming up and the second downfall was the coldness of the room it wasn't unbearable but was on the chilli side there was a plug in movable radiator but doesn't spread the heat too well. However the lady I met who ran the accommodation was very polite and rang before arrival to make sure was deffo going, building was lovely and very clean and apart from heat and shower I have no complaints. :)
Less than average
Parking is advertised as being available but it's not.
I ended up in a dispute with some of the locals after being told to park in a specific place by the hotel. Don't stay here if you have a car. The bathroom could do with a good scrub, limescale was blocking most of the holes in the shower head and the towels could do with a good bleach too.
Very few plugs in the room and noise was a real issue if you wanted to stay in bed past 7am. The owner has about 10 words of English vocab which is fine, until you need to communicate anything other than 'here is your key'.
A little odd
The "hotel" was a little odd in that it was a door in a street which I initially walked passed till looking up and seeing the hotel name on a banner above.
The reception is up a flight of steps and is a small area to the right. The accommodation is on a series of levels and would be better described as "rooms" rather than hotel. Having said that my room was clean and bright with an en-suite and all that I needed for a night. The woman who greeted me, although not speaking much English was very polite and informative. I had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed.
Clean and Functional
This was more like a room to let than a hotel.
When I got there, a lovely lady came to open the door (there's no reception) and showed me the room. She spoke very little English but she was very nice, however perhaps this would have been an issue in case there had been some problem with the room, I needed help etc. Having said that, the room was of good size, close to the train station, very clean, as far as I could tell and the bed comfortable. It was basic, but I think it would be absolutely fine both short term and long term.
Function and Friendly
The accommodation was thoroughly adequate for a one night stop over.
Initially I was concerned from a noise perspective about the close proximity to the station but actually there was little to no disturbance. The room was clean and functional (not for you if you like your creature comforts); the host struggled with English but was incredibly nice and friendly, trying so hard to communicate and make sure everything was to an acceptable standard. All in all a perfectly pleasant overnight experience.
Don't stop here.
The room was freezing cold.
When I asked to be moved the woman, who couldn't speak English, told me in Romanian that they were full. After telephoning a 'colleague ' I eventually got moved to a slightly warmer room. I was then visited by another 'colleague' who tried to get money from me to pay for the cleaning of the first room. I felt threatened and intimidated and quite scared with the three staff harassing me in. Do not stop in this establishment !
Inn on the Broadway
Customer service was very poor.
Clean, stylish and polite staff, great value
After eventually finding the almost hidden doorway to the Inn on the Broadway I was pleasantly surprised to find a well presented establishment with a lovely large room, high ceiling, power shower, and quiet - given that it is directly opposite the station (I was at the back).
The room was beautifully serviced every day, and although there are no breakfast facilities , there are an abundance of restaurants and cafes almost next door, so that was not a problem. My only, very small, criticism would be that the bathroom mirror was positioned above my head. (I am 5'3")
would not recommend this venue to my worst enemy
The family room was in the attic.
52 steps up and no lift. It was a real struggle for my wife and I and my very handicapped daughter. The outside of the place was displaying at least 3 b&b signs in very large letters. When we asked in the morning for the dining room we were told they don't do food.
