Windermere Manor Hotel
The staff were accommodating and helpful.
On choosing the hotel it all looked very nice on the website, however whenever you walk through the reception door things are not quite what you expected.
Definite smell of dog, the reception area was very tired looking and carpets well worn this continued up the staircase to 1 floor landing. Handle of room 10 door didn't work properly and the balustrade had been damaged this only had tape wrapped round. The room itself was ok however had a very musty smell as if there had been a flood at sometime in the room. The room had not been hoovered properly fluff, pencil sharpenings and a few small stones were evident. The toilet seat was certainly not cleaned properly, stains round seat and hinges.
The breakfast was a plus, plenty choice and cooked breakfast was hot. Staff were very nice and helpful, but we certainly would not return, which is unfortunate as this could be a beautiful hotel if they would spend money on in upgrading it bringing in to 20th century.
Warm friendly welcome
We only stayed here for one night but the welcome we received was lovely.
All staff were pleasant and helpful. Handy 25 minute walk into Bowness.
Room was ok food was terrible
Positives - there is plenty of parking and staff were nice.
The room was big and all amenities were provided. Negatives - The place is quite 'tired' looking. The bar had little or no stock. We ate dinner there but left most of it as it was quite possibly the worst food I've had when eating for a long time. So bad that we didn't go to breakfast the next morning we drove to find a café instead.
Lovely break, hotel good location, friendly staff, excellent room.
Nice hotel but not very good value.
Nice hotel, staff were pleasant and my room was very nice, clean and spacious.
Not very good value for money. The decor needs to be updated.
The breakfast was not very nice and there was no atmosphere in the hotel at all.
I don't think I would stay there again.
Windermere Manor Hotel
We had a lovely stay.
Breakfast was cold and slow, room was ok but a little dated, PAT testing 10 month out of date

Brilliant facility for visually impaired guests
A last minute break, booked easily using the LateRooms site.
Superior room was good value - well appointed and decent size. Facilities geared very much towards visually impaired guests to provide good value breaks, with excursions etc arranged by the hotel. Evening dinner was good value, but with a limited menu choice (to keep costs down), sighted guests might wish to seek alternative choices elsewhere. Located on the outskirts of Windermere, than requires either a drive or taxi. Breakfast consistently good. If you don't get on with dogs, avoid this hotel as the guide dogs come with their owners but are naturally well behaved and didn't cause us any issues. Staff friendly and helpful. WiFi is advertised as being available, but signal was very hit and miss and we couldn't get access whilst in our room (but was able to get reception in the bar/restaurant area) which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise pleased with our break.
Location was not too far from town by car.
Accommodation was above average for this kind of old building and we had no problems. Room was tidy and clean.
