Not as expected
After careful research and putting trust in the 4 star rating of the Park Inn by Radisson my mother and I were so disappointed in our choice.
Front of house staff are lovely and appearance of lobby and downstairs is great. However, after being given our room we were disgusted by the cleanliness of bathroom and the room itself. We returned to reception where we were immediatly given an apology and room transfer. The room we were given was fine alas not of 4star quality and although comfortable and we appreciated the swift transfer, housekeeping was appalling, no loo roll, cups obviously rinsed out in our bathroom and no care in attention to detail....duvet chucked over bed on the only morning we left in a hurry for spa day. Corridors were smelly (damp dirty smell) never seen a Hoover and the vomit stains on carpet were the final straw!. This was a special weekend for us and we didn't want to let this spoil it so we put a smile on our face and made the most of our stay. Staff were lovely, food in the restaurant was lovely and good breakfast offered. Wish rooms were as attractive and clean as lobby and restaurant. Must mention we enjoyed a lovely day at the spa, again lovely staff and clean.
Great location for somewhere to stay after visiting the arena.
We really enjoyed our stay here.
It far exceeded our expectations. Great standards, lovely breakfast with plenty of choice, perfect location for easy access to the arena. The price of the room was really fair compared to some others that I'd seen. The only downside is the lack of a car park. Whilst you do get a discount on the NCP car park across the road it is still a factor to consider when pricing up potential hotels.
Weekend break base
Booked the night before for a weekend break - room clean, room quiet even though on main road, great access from Arena, and close to Manchester Victoria and trams.
Breakfast good though 8 start on Saturdays may be a little late for some.
Brilliant location for the arena and city centre.
Park inn Disaster
It appears this Hotel maybe in crisis.
Hotel room with nowhere to hang clothes no drawers to put anything. For 3 days we lived out of our cases. There was one Towel in the room. The phone didn't work. Room service took a cup and didn't replace it. When reported (twice) nobody responded. First morning ordered breakfast in the room. £15.00 for a cup of coffee and the smallest bowl of muesli you have ever seen ... Should have taken a photo. No pastries with the breakfast as advertised, when asked for it arrived (1/2 hour later) on a small plate with no preserves nothing!. Very disappointed.
Park Inn by Radisson Manchester City Centre
We arrived and were given keys to our room on the 6th floor, which did not work and after returning to reception and having key reset, still didnt work.
After returning to reception (3rd time) was accompanied by a Manager who opened door to find that our double non smoking room was a twin which had obviously by the smell that hit you when you walked in, been smoked in very recently. We were then moved to another room, which we were told was a double only to find that that was a twin also.
No apologies, or discount on room offered - not a good experience.
Breakfast was however very nice.
The room was standard and when I booked on late rooms I specifically selected a double with a standard bathroom not a disabled bathroom which the women at the desk said that's all she had left.
The bathroom was dangerous once I had a shower in. There was a lock on the tv so I couldn't plug my tv stick in. There was a huge party next door making it difficult to sleep and the biggest problem was parking.
business hotel with a bonus
Lovely clean hotel just 7minutes walk from Victoria station Manchester.
The city is undergoing major refurbishment and the hotel was just far enough away to not be disturbed by the associated chaos. Sat nav still takes you via many currently closed roads but the front of house staff are such good communicators that they were able to direct us in over the telephone. The staff were lovely, professional and friendly. The spa was a delightful surprise - with a good size pool, sauna and steam room. I don't normally visit hotel bars but the style and openness of the Park Inn's bar / lounge made for a very pleasant evening. A view shared by many other guests as the area was buzzing. I would definitely stay here again. Very good value for money.
Will be returning
We visit the Phones 4 U arena on a regular basis and always stay over.
We will definitely rebook at this hotel.
