London for 24h

I had to renew my passport (I'm french living in uk).

So the french consulate was very near to this hotel, and we could go running in Hyde Park before going back to West Yorkshire. We liked Holiday Inn very much.

It's a nice hotel not so far from central London and an underground station just next to it, be weary of parking charges at the hotel if you drive although it was fair for London I'd have expected some warning of charges on the website as a paying customer.

I was expecting to park in the grounds for free, also make sure you have all your confirmation emails with you as they tried to put me in a twin room instead of a double which I booked.

Clean, professional and friendly!

My husband and I adored everything about our stay.

It was convenient to many restaurants and London sites. The only thing I found troubling was the high cost of breakfast, which was buffet style (a very wonderfully laid out buffet!) and the equivalent to $60.00. For scrambled eggs, toast, fruit, tea and hash browns, this seems a bit steep. Otherwise, we will absolutely be here again - your friendly staff, customer service and cleanliness are excellent!

Good basic hotel

Ideal base, close to tube.

Despite having 900 rooms, the hotel was relaxed and quiet. Basic room, beds adequate, food excellent with choice of restaurant/cafe. At £109, great value for a London hotel. Would use it as a base for exploring London, especially the Kensington area. Car park £33 for 24 hours, although can park for free in surrounding roads between 10pm and 830am, if you can be bothered to get up in time to move it .

Wifi cost money but with it being based in London I suppose it's normal.

Disappointing given star rating and room prices

Stayed on business with colleague in standard rooms.

Hotel very close to where we work in South Ken. I was testing out the hotel with a view to staying there most weeks on business. I expected a high quality for the price paid, but was somewhat disappointed.

The aircon was so noisy that it had to be turned off in order to sleep - it's a little old I guess. The bed was a little hard and certainly not of the standard of either Premier Inn or the new Travelodge pocket sprung 'dreamer' beds'. Food in bar was expensive, but of a good quality. The 'traditional pub' (presumably named for foreign tourists) is a very poor pastiche and is just full of fake wood and huge loud TV screens playing constant football. Not exactly my idea of a 'traditional english pub'. The drinks in the bar were well over priced - £8 for one glass of wine!. Would I stay again. Yes but only if at a vastly reduced price, and I'll go out to one of the excellent 'real' pubs locally!
