Offering modern comforts and an excellent location on the edge of the English Lake District, Allerdale Court is ideal for a relaxing break in one of the most spectacular and beautiful areas of the country. Your comfort and personal enjoyment are always the top priority at the hotel, and the blend of traditional comfort and modern convenience iterates this perfectly. Open log fires, original oak beams, individually designed bedrooms, a choice of excellent restaurants and a warm Lakeland welcome – all this and more awaits you at the Allerdale Court Hotel.

The cosy bar, with its original oak beams and open fire, is an ideal place for a pre-dinner drink in a relaxing atmosphere.

Cockermouth is situated in the most beautiful corner of England - the Lake District in Cumbria. It's unique position also makes it within reach of the Solway coast (7 miles) and Scotland (30 miles). The M6 motorway, together with the A66 trunk road from the motorway to the west coast makes road communication very easy. An excellent main line service is available from nearby Workington, to Carlisle, the cathedral city, 25 miles away and there are regular connecting bus services to most parts of Cumbria and the Lake District. The town boasts a castle and two rivers - the Cocker (from which the town derives its name) and the Derwent, both ideal for salmon and trout fishing. Cockermouth’s most famous son is the great William Wordsworth, and his former residence is a fine local attraction. If you’re looking for an active holiday, you really will be spoilt for choice. With the Lake District fells, the lakes themselves, five good golf courses and an excellent salmon river nearby, Allerdale Court is an ideal base for all sorts of activities, whether it’s for a weekend or a longer break.

Welcoming
We felt very relaxed and welcome the main hotel delightful although the room was a little dated, however a lick of paint and some new bathroom sealant would have been perfect

A great short get away
This is a delightful hotel in a lovely little town. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is a mix of olde world charm but with modern facilities. The food (we stayed for dinner and breakfast) was excellent and well priced. The hotel has a well stocked bar and wine cellar and the wine list has a good price range. We opted for the house red with our dinner which was a Chilean Merlot and was delicious.

Our Trip to Woolfest
The hotel is very central and Cockermouth is a lovely town the hotel was very clean the rooms a good size we had a bathroom that was huge with towels folded into swans when we arrived and spotless. the food although on the expensive side was excellent and plentiful and the staff were very pleasant and helpful I would say the only thing is when booking is ask for lower room if you have difficulty with stairs as there are a lot of them and no lift as it is an old building ans is spread out otherwise my trip was excellent and I would certainly stay there again

Cheerful greeting, friendly attention to service all round, good food and enough of it.
Our only unimportant problem was that the bathroom extractor fan didn't work. We like the building and its location, with the reception and restaurant staff very observant and helpful. The food was excellent and nicely cooked. We felt that the staff were personally involved in their work and took the job seriously. Top marks all round.
