Pretty Poor

The room was very basic, no hot water in the shower and the shower head very poor.

Breakfast was cereal, no Full English offered although advertised. Room smoke detector had a plastic glove covering it and not picked up by the staff. This was a very high safety risk. This place would be good for contractors etc passing through.

It is hard to find words to describe our stay at the Dunes Hotel.

This was a shabby badly kept dirty property with incomplete decore i.e. wallpaper and paint missing in large amounts, with dirty fake wood floors with no rugs. There was a mirror in the bedroom and also bathroom which was not big enough to see your face in. Although there was one towel each there was no soap.The rooms were on narrow dim corridors - ours had a bucket near the door to catch drips from a leak in roof.The approaching stairs were not in line with each other and it was very difficult to find the way to our room.The breakfast was presented with reluctance and was both poor in quality and quantity.Our bedroom had a small shower room adjacent with a small basin which had a plug that did not fit and so water splashed on the floor. When I wiped it up with a piece of toilet paper I found the floor was filthy and I would never dare to put a foot on it without shoes on. This accommodation is not fit for anyone to stay in. I have had better in third world countries at a very modest price.

Good basic accomodation

Good sized room with comfy beds was clean but could have done with some toiletries and the milk with the coffee has set.

You pays your money - you takes your choice

Get what you pay for.

Obviously low season when we went so no staff on site when we arrived. Dowdy appearance inside and out. A hotel for working travellers or hen nights but not for any lengthy stay. It served a purpose as a stepping stone. The owner tried his best and was a cheerful soul.

Not the Ritz but good value

January 2nd is not the busiest day of the year but I was pleased with my overall stay and would consider returning if in the area.

Extremely disappointed

We were extremely disappointed with the standard of the rooms, there was no hot water and only a trickle of cold water from the shower.

No plug in the sink and people banging on the bedroom doors in the middle of the night.

Value for money. Very helpful and courteous staff

Un-beatable price, nice location close to all amenities.

Walking distance to Sainsburys local 5 minutes away, Tesco express 7 minutes away, Morisons 15 minutes away.

Arrived at Hotel and there was no one on reception - in fact there was no reception or contact details -

Enjoyed stay - slept well (until a fellow gust knocked on my door a 7am looking for his friend - Just got back to sleep and he knocked again - none of this was the fault of the hotel though) - This is a budget hotel (ie:- it puts a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in) well worth every penny - would happily stay there again
