Ideal hotel for a peaceful stay.
Fine dining in the restaurant -food was superb (although on the pricier side of things), but we were treating ourselves. Only comments we pointed out with our room was the old sash window was rattling on the windy night we stayed. No fault of the hotel though as they are the original sash windows and it was soon resolved by a piece of cardboard wedged in. Also the spa bath in our bathroom, once I switched off the jets, there was a load of black floaters in the water. So much so I had to have a shower to clean off. Perhaps for future, the hotel should test the baths once a week to clear the pipes through.
Really enjoyed our stay the room itself was beautiful and bathroom was the biggest I've seen.
Loved the Molton Brown miniatures. Only issue would be the windows due to wind it was very noisy
Just as good as when we stayed two years ago
A beautiful hotel, at this time of year quiet, but that was just what we wanted and having stayed two years ago we had certain expectations and we were not disappointed, the food, staff, room, just everything was great, can't say more :-)
A Touch Of Luxury
Fantastic hotel in peaceful rural setting.
We stayed in a deluxe room which was themed around George Stephenson. Attention to detail was excellent and the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful
A gem of a last minute find !
Booked this hotel only the night before as we were enjoying a few days touring the NE .
Great location , giving us easy access to Alnwick and the coast .
Top quality venue , wished we could have stayed longer and would definitely recommend .
A relaxing night away
Booked basic accommodation but got an executive room which was fabulous.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Short stay at Doxford
Our second stay here.
Lovely building. Warm welcome from Reception and Concierge. Great ground floor room, though soundproofing very poor as we could hear conversations from next door room. Spa bath little noisy too, and cleanliness in room could be much better for this kind of accommodation.
A relaxing break
An excellent venue for a real treat.
A warm welcome at reception with helpful hints to the local area.
The room was to a high standard though there were a few dead flies on the carpet in the bedroom and bathroom. We couldn't book any treatments on arrival so would advise to book in advance. The pool and sauna was quiet enough to enjoy as a couple.
