Short stay at Doxford
Our second stay here. Lovely building. Warm welcome from Reception and Concierge. Great ground floor room, though soundproofing very poor as we could hear conversations from next door room. Spa bath little noisy too, and cleanliness in room could be much better for this kind of accommodation.

A relaxing break
An excellent venue for a real treat. A warm welcome at reception with helpful hints to the local area.
The room was to a high standard though there were a few dead flies on the carpet in the bedroom and bathroom.
We couldn't book any treatments on arrival so would advise to book in advance.
The pool and sauna was quiet enough to enjoy as a couple.

Excellent but bring a plug for the bath!
A great hotel with fantastic staff and lovely facilities.
Just one minor thing there was no plug for the bath which was a shame.

Luxury break
Doxford hotel itself is in a beautiful location, rooms are spacious, clean and classic. Food is of high standard and definitely worth dinning at hotel. Unfortunately the spa facilities were disappointing. The spa is in need of a refurb. It did not feel clean and was not a relaxing experience sadly. Treatments stopped at 5 pm so unable to book one at short notice.

Doxford Hall
This is wonderful venue spoilt by the poor quality of the pool area.
The swimming pool was cold, the steam room and sauna not hot enough but worst of all the two jacuzzis we're we're not working. The changing rooms were mixed and the showers of mediocre quality.

Luxury
Superb accommodation, restaurant food evening menu somewhat limited and expensive. Breakfast excellent. All staff professional, welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Would revisit for a special occasion.

A lot good, some not so good
Warm, friendly and welcoming staff, spoilt by the one breakfast waitress who was bordering on rude.Very clean, but a noisy evening with a wedding party, not that they were rowdy, just the music and the over efficient door closers. We went for a pre dinner drink in the cocktail bar, which had the tv blaring on the wall? Strange muzak playing in the restaurant, my meal was very good, my husband had very gloopy risotto. Bedroom and bathroom well equipped. No air con in the room, but reception organised a couple of fans.

A bit of luxury in quiet surroundings
A beautiful building with a lot of history - the gardens are well looked after and you feel you are in the countryside. The layout of inside of the hotel is well appointed. Staff were exceptional, from reception, dining room and bar, they could not do enough for you. Service was efficient. A lovely swimming pool. This hotel was recommended to us by our son and daughter-in-law who happened to stay en route back home from holiday - they would also love to spend more time at Doxford Hall Hotel.

Great setting, good service, ok food
There for a short stay. No real negatives although if I had to be critical I would say the fitness centre was a bit of a token effort, and the pool was more something for the kids than a relaxing spa addition. Staff were excellent
