Good value for what I paid, although the room was very small.
The food was fantastic and a great breakfast!
Milsom's / lLoch Fine
Staff all work very hard but manage to smile.
Food in attached Loch Fyne restaurant was delicious. Nice experience.
Get there early. Parking limited.
I have stayed in and around Kenilworth for 2 years and never tried Millsom's.
I hadn't realised that there was a rear car park, although small was better than parking on the congested street. The room was OK. Clean and spacious. The TV was small and old and the shower was a bit of a challenge but overall was quite good. As usual wifi was slow and there was no reliable Vodafone signal. Breakfast was superb and for that reason alone would be worth a return. Room prices do vary and this would be a key factor in staying again.
Comfortable and quirky hotel
Attractive and cosy hotel in the historic heart of Kenilworth.
Would certainly stay again.
weekend university reunion
Beautiful old quirky hotel located in picturesque part of Kenilworth Cosy and comfy bedrooms.
Evening meal and breakfast superb - very friendly and helpful waiters with a good sense of humour. Perfectly situated for exploring Warwick, Leamington Spa and the University of Warwick with a good choice of eating places nearby if you wish and a cosy front room to relax in with a glass of wine at the end of the evening. Home from home!
Quality not quantity
The room we had wasn't big but it was comfortable and quiet.
The extra touches like the bottled water being replenished each day as well as the tea, coffee and biscuits was a big plus and much appreciated. We have previously stayed in larger 'chain' hotels which are probably a bit more luxurious but definitely not as cosy and personal as the Loch Fyne. We ate in the restaurant which was lovely. If you are a fish/seafood lover it is not to be missed. Perhaps a little more expensive than some but well worth it and a bonus that it is on site and we didn't have to go searching for somewhere to eat. Adam told us the history of the building and was a good ambassador. We will definitely stay again when next in the area.
The room was a bit "cabin-like", but adequate for an overnight stay.
Breakfast was really good. Happy to recommend the hotel to friends.
Even though most of the comments in the "comments book" are very positive my wife and I were very disappointed overall for the following reasons; 1) On arrival we were met by a fairly friendly young man who greeted us with the term "alright" mate which I found somewhat off-putting as we are in our late fifties.
The term 'mate' was also used by one of the bar staff. After completing the paperwork which was handled satisfactorily the afore mentioned employee watched us struggle with our luggage without offering any help whatsoever.
2) The room itself was clean and quite spacious but without a bar fridge or telephone the price charged seemed excessive.
3) Our first breakfast was poor. The eggs were undercooked and the and the sausages, bacon, puddings etc was very minimalistic. However the breakfast on the second morning was much better.
Lovely hotel in the old part of Kenilworth on the old high street.
Close to Kenilworth Castle and the Abbey fields. The breakfasts are just fantastic - great choice and big portions.
An enjoyable stay
An excellent stay......
I don't tend to leave reviews because most places are average, or simply do what they say on the tin.
I was very impressed with Milsom's in Kenilworth in every respect. We will definitely stay again.
