Everything good except getting hot food at breakfast and having to wait at least 10 mins for bacon to be cooked.

For what you pay and where you stay I can't say anything bad or wrong. Would definitely stay again if going to Cardiff. Excellent location for train travellers, bang in the midale of the city centre.

Clean and tidy but very small rooms and as such felt very cramped.
This hotel is best suited for business stays only of one or two nights. The rooms are cramped and have very limited clothing storage (6 hangers on a rail). The bed is extremely uncomfortable and is seemingly not a full double. Positives are that it is very clean and the reception staff are excellent as is the location to the rail station, bus station and the town.

Underground pavement level rooms
To describe room 007 as Deluxe is a complete lie. Room 007 (also 006 and 005) are below ground level and have high level windows at pavement level and face the main railway line. Apart from the noise of a lorry parked outside with the engine running and the same for diesel locos on the bridge just outside the window, my night was disturbed in the small hours by a group of lads casually kicking the windows while waiting for their friend to finish vomiting on the window. Nice!
I am sure some of the other rooms at higher levels may be better but for goodness sake make sure you avoid rooms 005, 006 and 007.
Cooked breakfast is obviously 'budget' and a little crusty, even early on.

Reasonable value for money
The apparent room rate was £400 for a superior double, hmmmm not sure what was superior about the room to be fair, but it was clean and tidy. However, I don't like the apparent wet room in the en suite as it floods the seated toilet area and there are no mops to use to clean it up, so you have to stand or sit in a puddle! Other than that, a comfy enough room for one night
