Well located
Set back from Upper Street, car park underneath. View from our bedroom was over people's very pleasant gardens Quite a few of the tv channels didn't work, but apart from that, can't fault it

Great location, friendly staff, average rooms, stressful breakfast experience!
Great location, just off Islington High St and a couple of minutes away from Angel tube. Would recommend staying here for the location alone! Not sure I'd call the hotel 4* though. We booked a room for 4 and the website pictures showed a smart room with 2 double beds in it, so we were a little disappointed with what we got; a pretty average double room with a camper bed propping open a connecting door to another room with a sofa bed in it. Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare, they must have been short staffed because we had to ask for glasses, water, juice, milk and tea (and wait a fair bit) when it was supposed to be a buffet...we had to ask for a pot of breakfast tea three times (first pot had scally stuff floating in it, second pot had earl grey in it, third pot was cold) and then the waiter poured it straight away before it had brewed! Apart from these two niggles, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely and they even sent up a complimentary Birthday cake and card for my friends, which was a nice touch!

Overall good but could be improved
The room was clean but quite tired in appearance. We had room 222. It needs a refurbishment to freshen it up. We had trouble with our TV but once we notified reception, it took no time for a member of staff to resolve it. Generally customer service was good and we were very satisfied with the variety of food we were offered at breakfast. The only serious complaint about the hotel was that we were woken up by workmen hammering at 8:30 am on a Sunday morning! We were told that staff at reception took matters to hand and stopped the workmen working until after 11 am, but the damage was already done!

Great location
Hotel was just where we needed it to be with a tube station a few minutes on foot. The room was very large for a standard double, we had a good nights slep with no noise issues. We cannot comment on the food as we were visiting family near by so ate with them.

Standard of room was acceptable for the booking fee.
Attention to detail needed addressing with housekeeping, several long hairs were found left in bathroom. Easy chair was stained. Carpet slightly worn in places. For what we paid through Late Rooms it was acceptable accommodation (apart for housekeeping) and the rest of room was light, spacious, tidy and clean. Lots of storage for clothing and staff very helpful. Food service was very good.

Value for money, not here
After calling the central reservation center three times to change my booking, when we arrived at the hotel it was still wrong. The desk clerk did her best to accomadate our needs. It was such a shame to find our rooms where dirty with cobwebs, stained carpets and bathrooms in a bad state of repair. We paid £197.00 per room per night, I am sorry to say it was really not any where near value for money. I have stayed in many Hilton hotels over the years and this one was found to be very lacking in most departments.

Efficient,friendly and professional
We were visiting London for a family wedding, the staff at the Hilton Islington made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, we had booked 3 rooms, arrived at midday and were able to use one of the rooms early to enable us to get ready for the Wedding
