Middle of nowhere
Really cheap if booked online.
Massive room, TV. Bad reception, thin walls, some old people in room next door, could hear everything because they tend to talk loud. They were asleep early though. Food really expensive, beer about 3.30ish. Would stay again though as it is cheap and can drive out for food.
Chilton Country Pub & Hotel
Good location, excellent value
A comfortable haven off the beaten track
A long wait for dinner, which was excellent, but everyone came to dinner at same time!.
Breakfast best one for a long time. Hated creaky floorboards in bedroom. Poor shower.
WOW! A real gem at a fantastic price
Stayed here with my teenage son as a precursor to a University Open Day in Durham.
The twin bedded room was very spacious and had a host of facilities that you would expect from a 5 star hotel, for example, bath robes, free wifi, iron, ironing board, etc. The staff made us both feel very welcome and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The in house restaurant serves very good food and has a great selection of wines on offer. Overall, I can not rate this hotel highly enough. Value for money and excellent room made this stay a very enjoyable experience for my son and I.
Excellent Country Budget Hotel
Reasonable rooms with all that is required, good food and friendly staff.
We had a wonderful stay.
Rooms are spacious and comfy. Food plentiful and excellent quality. Staff are so very friendly and helpful. Can't do enough for you.
The staff on reception were very nice however the room and ensuite very basic and very noisy.
Creaky floorboards banging doors buzzing generator all equalled being tired the next morning. In the restaurant food was okay however waited 30 minutes for someone to clear plates and bring desert menu gave up in the end as no-one came.
I would not recommend on my experience
Loved this hotel, even stayed an extra day and will be returning soon.
One night stay
The accommodation was all that we wished for.
The bathroom in the room supplied had recently been refurbished to suit a disabled user to a high standard - much appreciated by us - although I was surprised that there was no grab rail to assist entering or exiting the walk-in shower. The restaurant menu was adequate and if one stayed on the appropriate day of the week the offers were good value. The quality of the food was good without being expansive.
Friendly and welcoming.
Will use again.
