Plain room but fine
Late booking got us a room at back of hotel. No view, but room was clean, modern shower and excellent fan so well ventilated! Very friendly efficient staff. Would stay again especially if we got a more inspiring room.

1 nights stay at the Royal Goat Hotel
I was surprised and annoyed that the booking did not include the price of breakfast. The room smelt of drains/damp. Windows were dirty

Magical weekend break
Set on the edge of a pristine Welsh Village surrounded by outstanding scenery the two hundred year old hotel exudes charm and style. To add to the atmosphere the sound of a whistle can sometimes be heard echoing down the valley from a steam engine on the highland railway that runs nearby. For those that walk or climb the Snowdon Mountain range is nearby.
The room was comfortable and clean, the food excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. I am already planning my next visit. Cannot wait to be back.

Good stay
A nice hotel, pleasant and helpful staff. Parking was a minor issue. But we were able to find one eventually.

A friendly welcome
We were greeted warmly and quickly checked in to room 14, on first floor which is accessible both by stairs and lift, The room is of adequate size with a reasonable size bathroom. The room has a trouser press and tea/coffee making facilities but no mini bar. A small fridge would be an asset. There appeared to be a problem with the plumbing/drainage from the room above as the ceiling above the bath is bowed and water leaked through into the bath. The catering is good but presentation of dishes varied. some imaginative dishes on the menu e.g pigeon breasts as a starter. Quality was uniformly good. Cooked breakfast OK but a Welsh breakfast without lava bread? Generallky a quiet and comfortable hotel.
