Lovely hotel (could be a four star), but read the small print (extra charges)
Quite often you can arrive at a hotel and it looks nothing like the photos, I was worried about this with the bluebell but was pleased to say it is as good as the web site suggests.
The family room we had (206) was fantastic, really that good. Big, modern with all the conveniences of being in an apartment rather than a hotel. There was even a TV in the bathroom. The hotel itself was nice, clean and clearly well looked after with modern thoughtful design throughout. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Parking is minimal so get there early or park in the train station over the road (our friends did this and it was £3 for the night, we managed to get into the car park). We were travelling as a family with a young child and a teenager and would happily come back to stay again. Negatives:
We stayed on a Saturday night so there was quite a bit of noise from the street but after 12 it died down and we had no problems sleeping. On check out we had to pay an extra £15 which wasn't clearly declared in the booking small print, this was our only disappointment from our stay.
lovely room, great front house staff but the breakfast not so good it said a choice of eggs and we wasnt offered a choice, no toast i had to ask then i had to get my own butter, small breakfast and we had to wait about 15 mins to get served and 30mins for breakfast very short staffed
lovely hotel, great decor and well maintained.
room was lovely and very modern. breakfast very nice, service and coffee was a bit slow. could do with a bigger car park, but overall excellent.
People should be advised when booking as limited carparking at the Hotel is very limited and Neath itself, apart from that it was great.
Really nice modern clean rooms, breakfast was fine.
Reception was friendly. I think the only thing I think could be better is the Internet connection. Overall a nice stay.
Cannot Fault it
We stayed here and found that the hotel itself and the staff far exceeded our expectations.
One a few hotels that i would happily return to again and again.
Stayed at the Bluebell hotel, the staff were very friendly, and the rooms were very cosy and clean, beds were comfortable, overall very enjoyable stay would recommend to anyone and would stay there again
An all round excellent experience.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Great value for money for the size and quality of the room. Had both a bath and a shower to choose from. Appreciated the little touches - good quality loo roll being one. Have already recommended to friend and would absolutely stay again.
Neath is not easy
Parking close to the hotel was a major issue as the 8 or so slots outside the hotel had gone.
Neath is then a nightmare because of the one way system. If you don't know the town to get out and drive back towards the hotel is an experience I'd rather not repeat. Service in the hotel was great but the restaurant was hit and miss. Meal was good but I had to wait for ages for a piece of cheesecake which they'd forgot, I had a book and nowhere to go so ...........
Hotel Room & Parking
The room was lovely, but the bed was slightly too hard and the feather pillows are not for me - but it was absolutely lovely, and the décor was very much to my taste - very nicely presented.
Wifi facilities did not work in the bedrooms as stated on the website and in the book proved in the rooms. The parking seems to be an issue on site as there are not enough parking spaces to accommodate the number of guess you have staying - resulting in me having to leave my breakfast to allow another guess to vacant the car park area.
