Great Hotel for Wimbledon Stays
This hotel is right over the road from Colliers Wood tube station.
You can come here directly from Kings Cross on the Northern line. Really easy to travel to and locate. If you're staying here because you're lucky enough to be heading to the AELTC for the Wimbledon Championship Tennis this is a great place to stay. There is bus stop within a 2 minute walk where you travel a short distance to Wimbledon main bus station and from there the shuttle buses go directly to Wimbledon and back. You can also walk to the main bus station in about 20 minutes, very easy to find. The hotel is well maintained, clean and tidy and quiet. The staff are efficient and friendly. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Breakfast is nothing special, simple selection of hot food or cereals, toast, pastries, juice and hot drinks. Fruit selection is very poor, horrible syrupy bowls of tinned fruit. Apart from that, very good reasonably priced hotel is a great location.
Holiday Inn Express London Wimbledon South
The room was comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast offered good choice and spacious seating. Parking was simple and accessible.
Weekend in London
We booked this hotel for a city break to London.
Hotels in central London were so expensive this was an affordable alternative and ideally located across the road from Colliers Wood tube station, 25 minutes from all the main attractions. Breakfast included in the price which was buffet style hot and cold and was a good start to the days. Car parking also simply and secure in the underground car park at £15 per day. Staff friendly, helpful and polite.
Nearby there was also a supermarket, a pub, couple of indian restaurants and other shops etc that were handy. Hotel was ideal for the purpose of the visit and cannot fault it.
Nice hotel but very noisy and parking a nightmare
The road side rooms a very noisy and do not have adequate sound insulation.
Very limited parking on site which if full you are told "park on the street" which, if your from out of london and dont know the area is very difficult. Most of the sourrounding area is wheel clamp zone. Staff very unhelpful regarding parking not even knowing the nearest public parking or paid for car park. Poor show when you have driven 5 hours to get there.
Excellent value for money.
Clean and tidy
good showers,breakfast is ok
This hotel is ideal if you want to be near a subway, unfortunately it is very noisy and we found it difficult to sleep, the breakfast was nice but the eggs tasted like someone had dropped a salt pot in them.
If you want to go to specific places research it before you go as the staff knew very little, great location for wimbledon though.
I booked a dbl room but was given a twin, no apology for this, I was simply told there were no double rooms available.
I didn't know until arriving at the hotel that they were having refurbishment work done. 8am Breakfast was disrupted by constant drilling less than 20 meters away. For £150 not a great experience & poor breakfast
The staff were friendly and efficient but I found the bathroom had bolt missing from lavatory seat which looked dirty.
We had to complain about air conditioning which was extremely poor as did another member of our party, who had to change rooms twice because of this. The public areas , dining, lounge and toilets were clean and pleasant but we were disappointed by the quality of the food, although plentiful and varied.
Big queues for the toaster but apart from that fairly good
