Good price great food

We were impressed by the quality of the accommodation, good friendly service and the great food, only minor criticism was the soundproofing between rooms which could be improved, but we would certainly stay there again if in the area.

Fantastic, peaceful & welcoming stay

We decided to stay here following our Wedding.

The setting is stunning. The accommodation is perfect. Very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. We decided to dine here and the food was delicious to say the least. Everything was home made. The breakfast had lots of choice. The home made bread was especially delicious. The gentleman that owns the property was very helpful and friendly and made us feel that he had know us for years. We will definitely be returning for another stay, Many thanks Sara & Gordon Tunstall.

Just perfect

Going on other reviewers we hoped it was going to be good.

It was just perfect. We were given an upgrade to a four poster bed room with beautiful views. Large bathroom, dressing gowns and fluffy towels.

The breakfast was again, just perfect. Hot, tasty and plentiful.

Unfortunately we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as we had family plans elsewhere, but the menu looked amazing and going on the quality of the breakfast, I would expect it was just as good. We would certainly recommend you stay here, it's just perfect

singular gem with a stunning outlook

Although found just off a busy road in the lake district, as soon as you turn into the car park you leave busy behind.

the view from the patio as you walk towards the entrance to the conservatory is glorious. The reception area is informal and Mike the owners meet and greet puts you immediately at ease. We had already eaten before arriving late in the evening, but breakfast was excellent and the menu for evening dining looked very impressive, well worth the recent culinary award proudly displayed in the dining room. excellent all round

Warm welcome. Lovely views. Good food. Room a little dated and in need of some modernisation.

A warm welcome and good food, great breakfast.

Room had lovely views and whilst the room was very, very clean it was somewhat dated and could certainly benefit from a little modernisation. If you are given Room 8 beware of the bed ..... it is possibly one of the noisiest beds ever and makes the most horrendous noise each time you turn over. We did mention this on leaving so hopefully the problem has since been rectified. Might not be our first choice of hotel next time as perhaps a little overpriced in light of the quality of room. However, overall, a pleasant stay.
