Late Rooms prices and you'll be put in the cellar.
Entering the guest house looks very nice.
First room was covered in mould around the window ( this double room was "below stairs", I guess this is why they are on Laterooms to fill these rooms). We asked to be moved and were offered a twin room, still "below stairs", we accepted this room as it was the only one they offered and to move hotel was going to be a drag. First thing we noticed was the cobwebs on the wall and ceiling, then the coldness, the heating was not able to be turned on and was controlled by a timer, they brought a convection heater. The toilet was dodgy, not fastened to the floor, the bath plug mechanism was broken, had to use a knife to lift up the plug to empty the bath. Breakfast was usual thing but very cheap ingredients. Don't leave anything on your bed or it won't get made up.

On the positive Reception staff very friendly Room clean Breakfast well cooked Very cheap Not so positive Very tired hotel Everything was an extra e.g.
Mould in bedroom
Bathroom pipes not fitted well so light pollution from the floor below was massive
Very good staff at this hotel
My wife and I went to Bristol to spend new Year with our son and his girlfriend, The Washington is close to his flat, this turned out to be the only good thing about the place.
Though the staff were charming and did help, nothing else did. The rooms (two, because we made them move us after the first night) were cold. The bed linens were not big enough so they rucked up all the time. There were not enough blankets to overcome the lack of heating. The doors of the rooms were so thin that you could hear everything that was going on in the corridors: mostly a gang of very rowdy girls who were enjoying their visit much more than we were. Breakfast was not bad as such, but we asked for toast and were given a slice each, the cooked breakfast included black pudding: half a slice. If you asked for more you got it, but the it felt rather mean. I had hoped that this would be a convenient place for us to use in the future, it's position is so convenient for us, but I would sooner stay in a homeless shelter than use this place again.
Room needs modernising and updating, breakfast was a bit limited for our vegan daughter, staff good
Old hotel in need of modernisation and refurbishment
Room old and smalĺ, bathroom tired shower poor, breakfast run to time 7-9 at 9am everything was put away, can we take your plate, cup etc, rush rush.
welcoming freindly staff.
Clean and comfortable room. Only complaint was that the room was extremely hot but staff got maintainance to turn the radiator off. Had to park for parking as no off sight parking even though have disabled badge. Will definitely stay there again

Value for money.
My husband had a hospital appointment at the BRI and we needed somewhere to stay the night before.
The hotel proved perfectly adequate for our needs. The room was fine, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Excellent value for money.
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast and within easy walking distance of Bristol City centre taking in some great views along the way.
Room could do with a makeover.
