3 day break

Wonderful location, superb B & B in every way.

Able to sit at breakfast and watch the red squirrels :). Views from house were breath taking. Able to walk from accommodation directly onto disused railway, and walk up to where the oath crosses the Settle to Carlusle line, about 2 miles, then walk back through stunning scenery, through Ravenstonedale, in total about 8 miles.

Although they do not provide dinner there is adequate choice in the area, in Ravenstonedale The Black Swan and The Kings Head are worth a visit.

Easter Show Break

Ideal for our needs near to show yet set in wonderful countryside with good eating places near to hand with recommendations supplied by Hilary.

Very comfortable peaceful room so a good nights sleep followed by a hearty breakfast , ideal. Helpful flexible approach by owner.

Lovely warm welcoming host was there to greet us.

Perfect location of the m6 for nipping around the lakes. Very clean (bathroom immaculate) comfy bed, filling delicious breakfast !. Ticked every box for couples wanting some peace and tranquility or just a short stop over on business. What more could you want. Forgot to say also a walkers hidden gem on the coast to Coast walk with spectacular views over the Howgills and a picnic ready for you to take on your walk. just lovely!.

Can't express enough how delighted we were with this hotel and the Hostess.

Nothing was too much trouble and every eventuality is catered for. The Hotel is superb. On the approach down the tiny long drive it stands majestic on a slight hill. Only just visible from the main road. Surrounded by rolling hillside, green pastures and beautiful countryside. Hilary is a super lady. Available when you need and eager to help anyway possible. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A super place to experience peace and tranquillity and truly engage with nature.

Perfect base to see lakes and north Yorkshire

Whether you wish to visit the local area or stop one night going though on a long distance walk I cannot recommended Brownber House enough.

Superb hosts, lovely rooms, the best breakfast. Also it is set in a beautiful location with lovely local day walks.Plenty of local pubs for evening meals within a short drive. Loved our stay there and will defiantly be coming back next time we are in this area.

The Perfect Country Escape

On arrival, Hilary gave us a very warm welcome .

Complimentary coffee and cake was offered, and was greatly appreciated. The accommodation was immaculately clean. There is a phrase - a room with a view, well that is an understatement.. Brownber Hall is the perfect place for some peace and quiet, and tranquility. The breakfast you get is fantastic. A large selection, and piping hot, with bottomless coffee, soft drinks and toast. Hilary and Drew gave us suggested walks in the area, which were amazing. They also suggested us wonderful drives through the Yorkshire Dales. They we're breathtaking. We can't thank Hilary and Drew enough for such a fantastic and peaceful break.

What a great find

A great hotel in a lovely setting.

Nothing was too much trouble for Hilary, from recommending places to eat to walks in the beautiful countryside, afternoon tea was welcome after we had finished a lovely walk. Our room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Will definitely go back there again.
