Chosen for the city centre location, an adequate hotel with little frills.
Check in was unnecessarily long and arduous. Depressing public areas that needed refurbishment. Breakfast ok if you like rubbery eggs, toasting bread was an ordeal, could have been told tea and coffee were self service - a little more customer care is needed apart from being shown where to sit.

good value for money
enjoyable stay! double single bed room and the ensuite were very big, more than enough space. nice and clean room. only downside was the long wait at reception when checking in, the lack of channels on the tv and the broken trouser press. everything else was fine.

Fantastic, well priced bar: perfect for an after work gathering.
Stayed for a couple of nights for Keeping It Live and enjoyed very good hospitality and service. The hotel is becoming a little dated, to say the least but the staff were excellent and the bar was very fairly priced for a hotel: I can't recall ever having stayed in a hotel in this country with a more reasonable and well stocked bar, which was offered a perfect way to unwind after what were very long days.

What it says on the tin...
This hotel is great value, the staff are great. The Ritz it is not but if your not expecting the Ritz, its fantastic value.

We can't really be bothered ...
Checking into the hotel after a long, uncomfortable journey the last thing you really want is for reception staff to treat you as an inconvenience for having the gall to turn up while they are talking ...
However, the thumping sound of the karaoke from the bar and the hooded 'clientele' outside the hotel front summed up precisely what this is ... a cheap. low budget hotel in a not so nice part of town.
