The Hydro Hotel
Good value for money.
A lovely hotel with friendly staff
Although I couldn't appreciate the full facilities of the hotel as I only stand the one night as I was attending a Yamaha Keyboard Road Show the next day in the hotel.
The facilities were great the room brilliant with lovely sea views from my windows. Shame I couldn't get any conversation in the bar in the eve as It was empty probably due to the time of year but there were plenty of guests at breakfast. I will definitely come again when they have another road show later on in the year
Very nice but small things make a big difference.
Staff should try to dress neatly in uniforms that fit.
"Good morning how can I help" is more professional than " hiya what d'you want."
Taps should be polished underneath as well as on top so that when they are turned on the cleanliness shows. Even if g menu was disappointingly limited and the scallops were not very fresh and we're overcooked. Tbe scones on our first visit to the tea rooms very dry, but the next day obviously a new batch were very nice.
Overall we had a very nice stay and as I said it was only little things that needed improving which would have made a huge difference.
Week end in Eastbourne
Hydro stay was excellent with very good room with 'sea view'.
TV slightly malfunctioned but not detrimental to stay. Staff friendly particularly at breakfast and service was excellent. I would return.
A Booking Lesson
I've stayed at The Hydro before and my parents stayed there regularly when my father was alive.
It is very good value for money and my only complaint, was the lack of help when registering. There was no porter to take our bags to our room, and luckily I was with my mother, who at 82 yrs old and not a lift user, would have found it extremely difficult to carry her bags to the room.
The staff in the restaurant were all helpful and good at their jobs and the food is very good value.
I think better lighting within the hotel, especially the lounge areas, could make it feel more welcoming. Bit it is a relaxed atmosphere and we had a seaview room, which is always a bonus. I would go back again, but I would definitely book through the hotel's own website next time.
A few days in Eastbourne
A reasonable hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.
Dining room lacking in atmosphere due to lack of guests dining. Food average. I can't see the point of having a bar called the Cocktail Bar if there isn't a cocktail menu. Cocktails could be made if you knew the recipe yourself. The hotel was a bit shabby in parts, chipped paint etc. Overall though a good stay.
I stayed here for one night whilst on a business trip.
My room was upgraded from a single to a double and had spectacular sea views. The room was clean, tidy and spacious. The service was always prompt and they went over and above to assist me. There was free access to wifi in my room and around the hotel. A great place to stay, very close to the beach and station. I would highly recommend it!
well managed hotel
It knocks the Grand into a cocked-hat in terms of service, food and value
