Lovely Lochsideside location
We had a very comfortable stay for one night.
The drive there was picturesque, and it was a good distance from Fort William to be able to get to the 10:15 am steam train without having to get up too early. The appearance of the building was a bit worrying - the flag flying out front was very torn and faded, the approach to the entry (stones) was difficult to roll luggage on, the balcony from the dining room overlooking the Loch was unsheltered.
Very nice accommodation overlooking Loch Lochy
Beautiful top floor apartment with full decking looking out to glorious views of loch lochy.
Spotless clean and very comfortable four poster bed . Only couple of things in my opinion would be better and that is a shelf in the toilet and utensils in the kitchen
Great views but that all
On arrival was taken to a room attached to the main building and asked if we had a dog.
When I replied no she looked surprised as the room we had been given was usually for guests with animals. The room appeared relatively roomy although the bed was a very small double and as the it was displayed as a superior double we expected it to be a king size bed. Hardly slept a wink all night it felt like a swarm of bed bugs crawling all over me, had to place towels all over the sheets to prevent the itching. Boiling hot room, unable to open window due to midgies outside. Food was poor.
Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel
Wonderful location, beautiful view, a perfect weekend.
Lovely peaceful hotel
We had a fabulous weekend here it was so peaceful and quiet.
We could not fault anything, however we did take our two dogs and thanks to LateRooms they had to stay in the car. This hotel is not pet friendly, it has 1 pet friendly room with its own front door. We had put on our booking form that we were bringing 2 Irish Wolfhounds and just before we were due to stay called to check, to discover the dog room was booked out and we could not get our dogs inside. LateRooms blamed the hotel, we did not book through the hotel!. They were more than helpful and we will be back, we just wont be using Late Rooms again ever!
A Gem in the Glen
We stayed in the lodge next door with a decked balcony direct onto Loch Locy.
Wow what a place to stay. The main hotel is a little dated but what you would expect of the Scottish highland. Our room was modern and very tastefully decorated. Food in the restaurant is excellent especially breakfast which is included in the price. Evening meal for three courses for two was about £60 which was not too bad. Staff were pleasant and very helpful and the views from the restaurant are to die for. We would go back. Mark and Samantha Perry, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
scenic peaceful spot
We were in annex, beautiful clean new building but needs a few tweaks. Heating is operated from upstairs accommodation and if turned down all ground floor room have no heating. Windows need blinds as people see right into rooms when walking past, no privacy unless curtains closed. Had a great 2 days and would definitely return.
Fantastic Hotel in a wonderful location
The Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel is in a wonderful location right on the loch and our room overlooked this amazing view.
The staff are helpful and welcoming which after a long drive was great to experience. I wish we could have stayed more than one night as this hotel deserves to be more that simply a pit stop. Will definitely be returning.
Lots of cobwebs!
We have stayed at this lodge before, and the food and service are both great.
What lets it down tho, are the rooms. The cleanliness is not where it should be. Paid extra for a deluxe room, but there were marks all over the walls, the thermostat on the shower was broken, so ended up with a scalding hot shower, and there were huge cobwebs everywhere. Shame, because the atmostphere and setting was great.
