Good hotel , convenient location.

The hotel is in a very convenient location , very efficient check-in , good standard of accommodation.

We had an evening meal, the food was excellent and the service good . The room ( 160) was comfortable . One downside was a constant humming noise in the room , this appeared to come from the area just above the room door . Although this did not prevent us from sleeping it was a somewhat intrusive sound. This was mentioned when we checked out , just a question really as to what the noise was , as the air- conditioning in the room had been decommissioned . The response from the receptionist was brusque to the point of rudeness , giving the impression that it was a waste of time to ask such a question. She did say it would need to be investigated but did not even make a note of the issue or apologise. A pity really as the customer service in the hotel was very good , and this left an unfavourable impression as we left.

Good staff

Friendly staff and clean rooms, unfortunately the food was very disappointing.

The Derbyshire Hotel

Normally use Premier Inn for all my short stay business and leisure trips.

Would use this hotel again.

Very uncomfortable night due to temperature

I was unfortunate enough to stay at the Derbyshire on one of the hottest days of the year.

The rooms have no air-conditioning so the heat was unbearable. There was a fan provided which I had to have on full power all night so I didn't get much sleep. Apart from the temperature the room (and hotel) is a bit tired with 1970's / 80's decor and could do with a spruce-up but generally ok for the price. I ticked the 'Yes' box for would I stay at the hotel again and this is only because there isn't much choice of hotels in this area.

Lovely stay

Great time at the Derbyshire.

Good location for exploring the area and easy to find. Lovely adjoining rooms for the children and I and we enjoyed the leisure facilities attached. Staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good too. Only criticism was the rooms were very hot at night, even with the fans on, but it didn't inhibit our enjoyable stay, thank you.

nice and confortable

The hotel is easy to reach by a car, good continental breakfast, check out and check in took just 2-3 minutes, swimming poor and Gym open until late in the evening.

we stayed in family room which is spacious. The only thing we wished was small refrigerator to store baby items.

Good hotel friendly staff

The reception staff were extremely helpful allowing us to check in slightly early as we had travelled to attend a funeral and needed to change.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. It was warm but the room fan helped.

The Derbyshire Hotel

Room was exactly what you expect from this grade of hotel.

Bed was comfortable and room clean. Only criticism was the old fashioned TV with limited number of channels. Unable to listen to digital radio channels. I realise this isn’t the biggest problem in the world and it wouldn’t stop me staying at the hotel again, especially for the price paid via
