Clean and with character but not up with current European standards
Apartment Gradac occupies most of the first floor of this characterful stone house some 100 years old situated 300 metres outside the city walls near the Pile Gate.As such it is very convenient for touring the city and catching the buses to local attractions like Lapad Beach which all start at Pile Gate.
The apartment which has two large bedrooms is very clean and the owners are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it is not up to modern standards, nor equipped as one would expect for the price, there is for instance no hairdryer . The kitchen, though clean, is modest with a two ring ceramic hob and a combi microwave ( no oven) and no toaster. I managed to toast bread by raising the microwave plate nearer the grill on an upturned mug, it only took 10 minutes.
There is no lounge area, the small kitchen filled with its dining table has to fulfill this role. Outside at ground level is a terrace with a number of tables but this you share with other occupants of the ground floor accommodation and the owners. The bathroom, again very clean, has a half bath with a hand held shower over it. The water goes everywhere and there is no shower curtain. The apartment seems to suggest a 4 star rating but if an hotel in this country it would attract 2 stars.
