the hotel staff were pleasant and the accommodation was well presented. It was in a really nice area and would be ideal for a romantic weekend away, stress free.

Relaxing stay
We have stayed at the Kingshead before and returned to have another relaxing stay in Masham and was not disappointed. Our superior room was lovely, especially for the price. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. We will be returning soon.

the staff make the hotel , excellent and well done . stopped in room 6 , could smell the kitchen and there is a drone from the extractor fan . the bathroom light shade must not have been taken off for years , at least 40 flies in there . would stay again but not in room 6 .

Great food and hospitalilty
Very welcoming and nicely furnished pub with a roaring log fire and a good selection of beer and wine to choose from. The food was very, very good and priced right. The service superb and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent with a complete range of everything you could want.
I have one small niggle and that was the poor lighting quality in the room. The fault is with thick basket weave light shades with clear candle bulbs behind. It was so dark that if you dropped something on the floor, you needed a torch to find it. Our room had the bed up a flight of stairs with the bathroom downstairs - very dodgy if disabled. The electric hair brush was fixed into wall upstairs with the mirror downstairs, most likely designed without a woman's input.
In future I will definitely ask for a room without the stairs and hope that it has better lighting.

Good value place to stay - nice atmosphere - great beer!
I've stayed at the Kings Head three times now. The twin room is always nice and quiet - at the back of the hotel. The bar food is always veryy good in front of the roaring fire. Breakfasts are reasonable - not the best every but good for the money paid. There is a very nice atmosphere about the place and a great range of real ales. We'll stay here again.

Yorkshire Gold
Arrived fairly late but immediate check-in service. All staff extremely accommodating and given an upgrade to a superior room which was absolutely superb. Accommodation was sparkling and very well presented with a touch of modern balanced against the traditional structure - tastefully decorated and very well received. Lights on and heating up for a warm welcome. The room was in the courtyard close to the Bar & Lounge but not a sound to disturb at bedtime - excellent. Would recommend using the Hotel for your evening meal as the food is superb especially the starter sharing platters! Good old Old Peculiar - much better than sleeping pills! The bar staff were energetic, good humoured and clearly displayed that nothing was too much trouble. Great nights sleep and sensible checkout time. Also recommend the full English breakfast as very well presented and hearty - loads of extras and a great dining locating. We enjoyed the benefit of the Christamas decorations and spirit! Would and will definitely return to the Kings Head in Masham which is a wonderful location in the heart of the Dales - thank you to all the staff for making our stay a pleasurable one.
