Great room and service, shame about the food

This was the second time I have stayed at the Pride of Lincoln, and would return.

Both stays were business trips and the first time. I was on my own. This time my husband was with me. Both times the service at reception was excellent. The quality and cleanliness of the room and standard of the room was also excellent. However, this time we ate out. This is because the first time I stayed I ate at the hotel. The prawn cocktail was tasteless, no fishy flavour at all. If it hadn't had the marie rose sauce I wouldn't have known it was a prawn cocktail, the bread served with it was dry. The main course , a vegetarian chilli parcel with rice was awful. The parcel filling was mainly a slimy chilli sauce and I counted just six red kidney beans in the whole parcel. The rice had an odd flavour and the salad garnish was sad to say the least. This was a great shame as I had had a very long tiring day and was both very hungry and very tired. The service although pleasant was overly friendly to make up for the very long wait I had to order my meal and for it to arrive. Even though I had booked a table on arrival. This time I decided to eat out incase the quality of our food choices this visit were as disapointing as the first.

Every thing that you need

The staff at this hotel obviously enjoy their jobs and it comes across from the time we arrived until we left.

All staff from reception, bar, waitresses and cleaning were so cheerful and friendly. Although the hotel is near a busy road the rooms were very well glazed and traffic noise was not a problem.
