The Chequers Inn
Foodie experience in the Peak District
Excellent all round. Highly recommmended.
Arrived to a friendly welcome and found all the staff to be very pleasant and helpful.
A lovely old building, with everywhere clean, warm, & comfortable. Food (and local beer) all brilliant. Stayed for a short mid-week break in Feb (2 nights) so place a little quiet. Good-sized shower with efficient, easy to use controls (a definite plus for me considering some places I've stayed in). Bedroom not large but certainly more than adequate. Was also impressed with how the small amount of traffic noise had been suppressed. Room would benefit from addition of small chair...in corner next to wardrobe perhaps?. Great location and would definitely return to this pub again if in the area. Thank you for lovely stay this time.
