Superb location on the edge of Derwentwater, hotel is a little tired but the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive.
Evening meal was a little overpriced for the quality but the breakfasts were good. It is a little different to most hotels as in it mainly caters fro activity weekends and you need to be able to socialise with others as you will be sitting with others for a meal and or breakfast.
Didn't realise upon booking this hotel it was for organised walking events and we were their purely for the weekend.
Aside from that we were made welcome by all staff and guests. It was hard to find at first as it wasn't clearly sign posted, and the postcode took us to the wrong location.
Room was just what we needed although the windows were left wide open and there was spiders all over the bedroom.
