About the hotel
Sun, sea and sandcastles! The hotel is situated on the main Torquay seafront road, Torbay Road. Torquay train station with direct links to London and the north is just behind the hotel and it is just a 5 minute walk from the train station to the Hotel. With so many attractions right on your doorstep and voted top seaside destination in England in the 2015 Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, we know you'll love to be beside the seaside.
Wander into town and catch a show at the Princess Theatre and when you're ready to relax, just head back to your bedrooms which all have en-suite rooms, TV’s and tea and coffee making facilities. Alternatively, just enjoy a drink from our bar in our very spacious sea facing lounge. Adjoining the pretty towns of Paignton and Brixham in the bay, Torquay is located in the area known as the English Riviera. Torquay is only 18 miles from Exeter and 28 miles from Plymouth; it has a beautiful coastline that attracts wildlife and boasts the prehistoric caves known as the Kents Cavern. The town has a rich history and was a destination much loved by the Victorians, in fact, Torquay was home to famous crime novelist Agatha Christie in her early years and holds an annual International Agatha Christie Festival for devoted fans of her writing. Torre Abbey is steeped in history and only just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. As is the Riviera International Conference Centre, which offers swimming, a Bar Café and WiFi. Paignton Zoo is just 20 minutes away from the hotel and is a great favourite with the family. Get a special pass from the zoo and you also get to go to see the penguins at the Living coasts in Torquay. Babbacombe Village is also just 30 minutes from the Hotel, which is home to the Model Village and gardens. There is limited onsite parking available on a first come, first served basis. There is however offsite parking on Sea Way Lane which is the next road to the hotel. Breakfast is available at an extra cost, which can be requested upon arrival.

Could be better
I booked this one last minute, on my road trip around Devon & Cornwall.
I'd seen it before and thought it would be a bit special. Sadly, it wasn't really. The staff were pleasant enough and the view from the Lounge was pretty good. Breakfast was £5 extra (£3 for Continental). I fancied a drink, so went to the bar - no draught beers, just bottles. The room I was in was okay, clean, but tatty in places.
