Nice hotel but one very rude staff member. A shame as a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting.
We had a very unpleasant encounter with one of your staff members.
We arrived earlier than check-in (having advised the hotel a week earlier that we had a wedding starting at 2pm and they assured us there would be somewhere we could change as we had travelled 3.5hrs to get there and didnt want to travel in a kilt etc). The man refused to let us into our room (despite the room being completely ready) and reluctantly let us into a room with no mirrors when there was a suitable public cloakroom we could have used. He commented inappropriately when we inquired about maybe getting home late ('you wont be later than 2, why would you be later than that?' he laughed). He was generally really rude, sarcastic and obstructiveand we arrived at our wedding furious and unwashed. Breakfast great but cold.
Tired and Well past it's Sell By Date
Stayed here some years ago.
Has gone downhill since then. Room clean but terribly dated with only basic services. Smallest telly I have ever seen. Bathroom clean and reasonable quality but all the floors in this place are uneven to the point of dangerous in some areas. Reception was good as was the receptionist. Went down hill from there. All staff with sour faces and could not care about customers. Oriental breakfast staff were pleasant but quality of breakfast was diabolical. Worst quality I have ever had. Overcooked, dry, running with grease. Thank god I did not have a dinner B&B package Far too expensive for such poor accommodation and staff who could not care a lot.
