Very friendly welcome and comfortable room Big bed and plenty if space
I've stayed in a lot of pub hotels, and this was fine.
I don't know what it was about this one, but it just didn't appeal, and seemed pricey for what was on offer. The room was clean, the quick dinner I had wasn't bad, breakfast was good, I slept well, but somehow I came away from what was otherwise a very enjoyable visit to Berkeley distinctly underwhelmed. I think it started from the unwelcoming locked reception, with sacks of laundry, and blater the deserted bar, it just lacked atmosphere.
