When I entered the rear of the building from the car park there was a horrible smell in the hotel.

The corridors require a good paint. Reception couldn't be more helpful - excellent. The rooms are very dated and could do with a good clean. Bathroom could do with a replacement. The bar area and restaurant had great good. Decoration has let this hotel down.

Basic Accomodation

Customer service was good, staff were helpful and friendly particularly the serving staff at breakfast.

The room was clean with all the basic amenities you would expect although the TV was very small. This is a very large hotel and at one time would have been considered well appointed however that would have been some time ago. The rooms decor was very dated and in truth was in need of a complete overhaul, the shower was excellent but there was no extract fan which left the bathroom very hot and sticky after showering.

In truth the stay was comfortable and reasonably priced, if you require opulent surroundings and state of the art facilities this is not the place for you.
