first time here
Though I came from the area I didn't know this place existed.
Nestled away just off main road old building which has been updated. The back of hotel overlooked the wear dale fells. The staff were very welcoming, the room was very comfortable. Food at breakfast well cooked and plenty of choice
The car park is to the rear of hotel down little lane hotel accessed through garden which was large lawn with tables outside and surrounded by trees. We watched the squirrels for a while
Nice place to have a wedding reception
a fair review
The hosting skills of the young people were brilliant.
Attentive but not over bearing. The hotel has obviously been fantastic in its hey day, but needs a bit of tender loving care in places. Food was ok, but again a little extra attention to preparation, sausages and mushroom a bit overcooked. View from the 4 poster room was absolutely brilliant. The current management has only been in place for just over a fortnight and need encouragement with genuine criticism to develop the facilities and not be chastised for one or two areas that no doubt they will deal with over time. Perhaps a little investment from the owners might not go amiss. I wish the team the best of luck in the future and hope these comments help.
