A wonderful getaway bolthole!
I didn't realise places like Lower Barn existed....just cannot express how sylish, beautiful and quirky this place is.I travelled alone as I badly needed to de-sress and although I had peace, quiet and an owl I wasn't isolated.
Hosts Mike and Janie have lovingly built each part individually and their dedication has paid huge dividends. I was actually sad to leave....but will be back!
£120 for 1 nights B&B - sadly lacking !
Expectations - £120 for 1 night B&B = comfortable, a little bit of luxury, good standard of accommodation Reality - a budget electric shower that resembles a incontinent drip, a built in hair dryer that is falling apart, owners that are not available in person OR by phone to help with problems ( they were out drinking .
), no form of heating on a cold night, a hot tub in a dark corner of the garden with no lighting making it impossible to use, fresh milk that had "gone off", plastic bedside cups, cheap towels that appear to be water resistant (think about it), a dressing gown that had a rather dubious odour, apart from that, the cooked breakfast was pleasant.
