We had booked a twin and triple room for our stay in the hotel.
Upon arrival, the receptionist decided to start with the fact that this was a family run hotel and that any noise and late returns to the hotel would not be appreciated (Being 5 men obviously meant we were there to go out and get drunk, in her opinion).
We went out for the day and headed to a concert in the evening followed by a few drinks in bars. we arrived back at the hotel at 12:30 and were greeted to a couple sitting on the steps smoking cigarettes in their pyjamas and talking loudly. We entered the hotel quietly and headed to our rooms quietly. The hotel was very noisy through the night due to street traffic bit the major problem was the noise made by the saniflow system that had been installed for the plumbing system. We could here several rooms around us using toilets and showers throughout our stay. Felt it was a bit unfair to told we needed to be quiet when the hotel itself made a large amount of noise. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and the hotel itself was well located.
Our room was downstairs and there was no lift which normally would be fine but one in our party really struggled with stairs.
The drains were a bit smelly in the en suite shower room.
