About the hotel
Arriving at Boscundle Manor is like stumbling upon a well-kept secret. Hidden in a tranquil location, where pretty terraced gardens meet ancient woodland, the warm charm of the 18th century manor house is palpable from the moment your eyes fall on the frontage, its rosy pink walls draped in lilac blossom and hugged by neat lawns and colourful flowerbeds. The rich character continues inside – in the snug lounge with its deep velvety sofas and open fireplace, in the dining room with its wooden floors, sumptuous drapes and heady touch of grandeur, and in the light and airy climes of the conservatory.
The interiors combine style, elegance and a charm befitting the building’s historic character with a wonderfully welcoming and endlessly cosy ambience. The individually designed bedrooms are contemporary in style; from bold jet black, hot pink and modish flourishes to pretty pastels and chaise lounges, there’s a room for all tastes complete with luxe bathrooms and impeccable attention to detail. All relaxation needs are catered for: take a dip in the indoor pool, indulge in a treatment in the Zento room and sink into the hot tub and gaze up at star-speckled skies. It’s small wonder this chic sanctuary is deemed to be one of the region’s most romantic hotels.

A beautiful old Manor House just outside St.Austell.
Lovely setting in its own grounds, this charming Cornish house full of old character. A very warm and welcome reception awaits with smiling courteous staff. We were upgraded to Daphne. A lovely room with its own lounge area, kitchenette and ensuite. A bath the size of a small pool and a shower to dance in. Great facilities- small and relaxing pool area and a lovely hot tub to forget about the world for a few moments. A super find!
We found this hotel on Laterooms.com and nowhere else when we were looking for a late holiday in Cornwall.
This was a lucky find as the room was actually a small cottage within the grounds. Yes it's up a number of steps (about 3 flights) but it's worth it for the view downwards over the valley when you're sitting outside watching the sun go down.
It's a shame that the outdoor swimming pool that is below the cottage has had to be closed due to an EU regulation. However the indoor pool and hot tub are really nice and make up for it. The staff were excellent and would always do whatever they could to make your stay more enjoyable. Sometimes it seemed there were not enough of them particularly if something went wrong (like somebody going down sick on a breakfast shift). You're in a great location for the south and west parts of Cornwall. It's very close to the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as the south coast, Lizard’s Point and Land’s End. Charlestown is a couple of miles away and is a lovely little coastal inlet with great pubs and restaurants etc.
Overall it's a fabulous hotel with accommodating staff and owners who really set out to look after you and make sure that your stay is enjoyable. We recommend this place and yes we're hoping to go back at some time in the future and continue our exploration of Cornwall.
