Comfortable beds and soft chairs ensure a relaxing space in which to unwind after a long day exploring the local area. Much Wenlock is steeped in history with many buildings dating back to the 1500's, whilst the dramatic 12th Century ruins of Wenlock Priory lie within easy walking distance from the Gaskell Arms. The town was the home of Dr William Penny Brookes, one of the most influential pioneers of the modern day Olympic Games and in fact the oak beamed restaurant in the Gaskell is the place where Dr Brookes held many of his meetings. The hotel is within easy reach of a huge selection of Visitor Attractions, including the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Centre with its numerous museums.

Good for weekend break

Lovely hotel, nice welcome on arrival, bar inviting with good beers.

Room was big and cosy with controlled heater so you can be as hot or cold as you like. Creaky old pub but that adds to ambience. Would definitely return.

The 'only' place to stay if you visit Much Wenlock - Superb!

This is lovely, friendly hotel with the most beautiful decor.

The room had all the facilities we needed and more. The beds were comfy and the accommodation spotlessly clean. The meals were tasty and generous, we would definitely recommend to friends and look forward to staying again.

The hotel itself is might in the middle of town so ideal for leisurely walks and browsering the shops. Even better for me that the hotel is virtually opposite a salon, so I was able to sneak in a couple of spa treatments during our stay. We have stayed in other establishments in the area before as they have been cheaper but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for and the Gaskell Arms Hotel is well worth it!!
