Handy short term utility accommodation
One bus stop from terminal 5 or free shuttle.
Basic room from 33GBP($AUD66) no tea making or TV but better rooms for more $ which we have used before. Solo this time took single 33GBP room. Heathrow Lodge seems to own houses in a side street and a pub opposite serving good food. My room in a house was one of about 5 sharing WC in one bathroom. Some lights and taps not working were quickly attended to. If new to UK you will be charmed by nearby old cottages & pubs. OK for one night.
Scruffy, noisy and worn out - don't waste your money, spend a little more if you want a decent night
This hotel is yet another example of what we have come to expect from so called "cheap" hotels in the UK - it is scruffy, noisy and worn out.
The carpet was old, thin and dirty. The fixtures and fittings are tired and overdue for replacement. Don't expect much sleep as the door and walls are made of cardboard and the mattress has more hollows in it than a golf course. To top it all, the en-suite toilet/sink/shower cupboard is fine you're the size of a small child but useless for an adult....
