Old fashioned hotel still quite grand

Needs a lick of paint here and there.

Service was good but we were shocked to pay £5 to park on top of the £140 for B and B . We were meeting up with friends there so would normally have found somew here for better value. I had asked and paid extra for a sea view but didn't get it.

OK for a one-night business travel stop-over

Bouncers, on the gate to the garden bar.

Hmm. If you need bouncers at a Sunday afternoon outdoor bar, then you need to raise your bar prices to make the loud, beery divorcees on the pull go back to the pubs near Fratton Park. We did not eat here. We went to Cafe Rouge for better fayre. Get down early for breakfast as everything is stewing away in heated tureens. However, the coffee was much better than Cafe Rouge - even though it had been brewed at half strength. 60 grammes per litre, please. Automatic dosing coffee grinders are now very cheap and coffee from beans tastes of coffee!. However, I was delighted that the weak coffee did not come from an "Italian Hot Milk Pigmenting Machine".
