Very Disappointed overnight stay travelling back to England from Southern France.

I always doubt a hotel when arriving, the receptionist is also the waitress and also the bar staff at the same time.

The positives are;

Easy access from motorway. The main building is attractive, with a very visually pleasant indoor and outdoor dining area/bar with a very nice view of a water mill. The gardens and pool are pleasant. The negatives are;

Elsewhere the hotel is "tired". There is no lift to the first floor. I would not recommend this to anybody with physical disabilities due to many steps enev on the ground floor

My wife and i were not permitted to sit in the outside dining area which has a lovely view, because it was 15 minutes before dining started....but the staff were sitting there eating and smoking. So we sat on a terrace with high hedges and no views. Our meals were aweful (i don't think i have ever had such a poor meal in France). My wife's was "stone cold" and mine not much better so we sent it back. It was not a pleasant dining experience. Don't go in the bar for a "quick" drink as finding bar staff is very hard. Don't arrive/depart when the local attraction (Negoland?) is opening /closing. Summary

This hotel cost us @ 200 Euro for one night. I have no problem with paying 200 Euro. (It would have been more but i would not pay for the meal which they did attempt to charge me for); but this hotel ,in my opinion is not value for money. On our way down to the south of France at the start of our vacation we stayed in an IBIS in Troyes. We should have done the same on the way to England.
