A family-friendly welcome but missing some finishing touches...
The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and helpful, and they made the stay an enjoyable one.
Setting and location were perfect and made all the better by a sunny weekend. Pool was a bonus. We were in a family room which was spacious and clean though it did feel a bit tired for the price (PS2 with no games available and a TV in the children's room that didn't work - better to take them out completely; tiny hairdryer and rather greying towels). Breakfast was the major disappointment - service that stopped at 10 on a Sunday and self serve English breakfast which really didn't cut it. Bar food was better and sensibly priced. Could be really special with a little more finesse.
One night in Brockenhurst...
I cannot fault the staff at Balmer Lawns - everyone was very helpful.
The room & bathroom were adequate, although the heating was turned up to the maximum. I shouldn't grumble really, too warm is better than too cold - but maybe the room was a tad too warm!
