About the hotel

The evolution of Shrewsbury has seen the town, first mentioned in a charter dating back to the year 901, develop into a stunning historic and artistic centre, with over 660 listed buildings and dozens of museums and galleries. This historical survival of the fittest would have made Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury's most famous son, proud. He attended school here and gained who knows how much early inspiration, playing by the clear sparkling waters of the River Severn which flows lazily through the town.

There is a strong, association with the heavier side of science too. The birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, just outside Shrewsbury, was sparked by John wilkinson's cast iron bridge, now celebrated with UNESCO World Heritage status and plenty of award winning museums and with the magnificent Severn Valley Railway, The Roman city of Wroxeter, Offa's Dyke and a nuclear bunker all open to visitors, Shrewsbury is truly a place with something for everybody. "PLEASE NOTE THAT ACCOMMODATION IS TOTALLY NON SMOKING".

a pleasant surprise

I didn't know wetherspoons had hotels and staying at this was a pleasant surprise.

Reception staff were multi tasking away from reception on arrival but once they came over the lady was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but had everything in my husband did hit his head on the tv which was attached to the wall. Breakfast was in the bar and what you would expect. We left the car in the car park whilst we explored the town which we enjoyed. Overall a pleasant surprise!

Lovely Stay, would definitely stay again!

My Friend and I stayed on Saturday night following plans for a girls night out.

Booked in at 2pm with no problem at all, lady at reception was very friendly and told me everything I needed to know. Room was gorgeous, spacious and very well decorated. Was really impressed especially with the price. Couldn't hear the pub downstairs below us at all. Staff were all very friendly. The only issue I did come across was the free wifi. My iphone 6s would not sign onto this for love nor money however many times I signed up to it. I just had to use my phones 4G, not a big problem but think it should be highlighted.
